Re: Hackintosh
I bought a copy of the Snow Leopard disk (it's only $30 in stores) and you need some files that will trick it into booing on you PC. I got them from TonyMac. http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/iboot-multibeast-install-mac-os-x-on.html Download iBoot...."Board index » Login" I may have...

Re: Bigfoot Killer
I do know the Gigabyte has started putting them on there high end Motherboards that are made specifically for gaming. Must do something then. Supposedly the card reduces the Windows Network Stack... The benefit of using a NIC instead of using the on-board LAN would be offloading the hardware proces...

--- Yes I do know that this thread is almost 5 months old... --- If anyone is interested in making one and saving a TON of $$$, let me know and I can walk you through the install. With my MacBook(Intel Dual Core) I was making a DVD for a friend and it literally took 5 hours for it to process the DV ...

Re: Upgrade questions
might look into overclocking to see if i can improve in that area. I wouldn't suggest overclocking but an external recording solution might just do the trick. http://cgi.ebay.com/PC-Laptop-VGA-AV-TV-RCA-S-Video-Converter-Switch-Box-/130489413970?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e61c67152 Pair th...

20-30 little pieces Ouch! http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/5613/cpumountrepair.jpg You are not alone in the plastic department. This was the plastic fan retainer for the Heatsink that I had replaced for a friend of mine. The plastic studs holding the heatsink retainer were replaced with screws. rep...

Re: Upgrade questions
Darn... The boxes that the computer cases come in usually do a great job in keeping the case secure. I would hate to see you having to take too much time and effort with an RMA just for the new case to come back in the same condition. Then again you are building this yourself... Customize it to your...

I really think the video card is going to make the difference... The new case is going to be nice, going with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147094 That case seems awesome for configuration... Insane wire management and cooling options. Re: Upgrade questions
What GPU are you using GZ? I still use RivaTuner for some GPU's but the software sucks compared to some of the newer stuff like MSI after burner or Sappire Trixx, both will let you set a fan profile so you never have to mess with manually tuning your fan. GPU: BFG GeForce GTS 250 OC 1GB PCI-X16 2.0...

Re: Upgrade questions
That cooler is not bad GZ but it won't keep an i7 with Hyper thread on cool. If you run HT off you could still get a tiny OC out of it with that cooler. Condensation can only happen when the H2O is below ambient temps. I'm not worried about any OC on my CPU as I am running it at a stock 2.8Ghz. I b...

I've got this HUGE...little guy in my system right now... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103057 Might be easier on the wallet. I had to pull out my M/B, take off the AMD stock heat sink, take off the old heat sink retainer and flip my M/B over to install it. Newer cases all...

Re: Upgrade questions
For performance over price the GeForce GTX 570 will beat out the Radeon HD 6970 but they are very close in performance. If you throw the GTX 295 on E-Bay I'll bet that you will get a decent offer for it. It benchmarks at half of those newer cards that you are looking at. When it comes to playing WoW...
