The Old Lady just made some of this, can't wait for it to get ripe!
Kahula
2 cups Water
4 cups Dark Corn Syrup
1 cup Light Corn Syrup
1/4 cut + 2 Tablespoons Instant Coffee
1 (25.4oz) Vodka
1 (25.4oz) Light Rum
1 (2oz) Vanilla Extract
Combine first 4 ingredients in large pot, bring to boil. Reduce heat & simmer 1 hour, stirring often. Cool completely, BEFORE ADDING ALCOHOL. Stir in rum & vodka. Store in Airtight Containers. Makes 3 quarts. The longer it sits the better it is (at least 4 weeks). Be real sure that the mixture is cool before adding alcohol because it could blow up...........

Re: Homemade Kaluha
Opened some about a month ago - still a little strong - so we're saving it for a summer solstice party on June 21st. Hopefully it'll be ripe by then.
