WestWorld is being re-made for a 2009 release. The original with Yul Brenner was absolutely great. It was mind-blowing for it's time and on my top ten list.
Yul Brenner's "Gunslinger" character was the inspiration for the "Terminator" character.
The producer better not fsck this one up!

And you are right about remakes. It's nothing but remakes anymore. It costs to much to gamble the farm on "new" material, better to go with a remake of what was a popular film. Risk-averse producers.
Wait til they decide to remake "How the West was Won" or "The Ten Commandments".
