Karl Urban as McCoy. He was very good as Eomer in LOTR.

I know what you mean. I was a diehard ST-TOS fan back in 66-69 and hated even missing one episode as a kid. Initiallu skeptical of TNG, I enjoyed it immensely. I think Patrick Steward portrayed a much better captain than Shatner.Tanner wrote:Thankgod i cant wait watch the reruns on spike everyday miss it so bad. would be nice to see a movie come out and then have a new show continue the movie.
I come home from work these days and have to tune in to Spike for a Voyager fix and then to SciFi for an Enterprise fix. (I don't have cable at home.) I am managing to see episodes I missed originally. Kate Mulgrew was a bit to feely in her portrayal of her character.
Anyway, it will be nice to see some new interpretations of Kirk, Spock and the TOS crew.
My fav movie was IV, save the whales, everybody remember where we parked, nuclear wessels and Scottie's interaction with a quaint computer.

While I have enjoyed them all, each in their own way, my favorite was the TNG movie.
I suppose ST TNG was my favorite series also, followed closely by TOS. I tried giving kate Mulgrew a chance but was never really sold on her portayal of her charachter. As Wabbit said, a bit too feely. Cetainly a bit too something anyway.
One spin off I noticed that was conspicuously absent is DS9. While it did not directly follow the original genre, I liked it a lot. Issues of race take on a whole new meaning working day to day at a space station.
