I think the intent is to design a robo-mule that could follow troops over terrain wheeled vehicles couldn't go. The power plant is a bit noisy, sounds like a chainsaw motor. It did remind me of a swarm of flies though. Always a problem with real mules.
Imagining the programming that went into that. Detect slip and put the legs in the right spot to counter it. Detect tip or push and react to it like a reflex. Pretty hard jobs when you think about them. Organic creatures have the reflexes and wetware built in.
