I don't play a lot of games anymore. What is it ?

A mod for an existing game ? A new game ?

Looked pretty cool.

Looks like a fun game. UI reminds me of Warcraft and the games like it. I wish I had the time to play games like that again.

As a side issue, can someone fix the board links so they open off-site links in a new window instead of in the frame? The clipping inside the DOU site frame is rather annoying.

Yes, that would be nice wouldn't it

Looks neat I guess.

You guys don't ctrl-click all links to open in a new tab? :?:

No, I don't ctrl-click very often. Every phpbb board I have been on opens links in new windows automatically so I have come to expect it. Standard practice for framed sites is to open off-sites in a new window for the simple reason that the current frame has no idea as to the content of the target or how wide it is. New window targeting works on other boards and this is about the only one I've encountered where it doesn't. It confuses users when they have to remember that for this link you just click and for that link you have to ctrl-click or go back and re-open.

If the intent of the web board design is to open off-site links in a new tab then it needs to ID the browser and accomodate the capabilities of the browser and do a new window for non-tabbed browsers and do a new tab for browsers that do tabs, a considerably more complicated task I would think.

I believe some browsers can be configured to open target="_blank" in a tab rather than a separate window but this is a matter of personal choice not controlled by the site so the site shouldn't even care whether the browser is tabbing or not.

The problem with framing is that the server has no idea of the capabilities of the browser/screen/user viewing the site or of the content of other sites and whether they are proportional or fixed-width sites. You end up with a clipped mess when the off-site thinks it has full width of the window when it actually doesn't. The server only knows about the content it controls and framing interferes with that process. I don't know how many times I have been hit by poorly configured frames that cascaded their frames from page to page or frames that clipped images or buttons off the screen. Not that I have encounted that here, however.

That's been a sore issue ever since we went with Joomla. There is a long-standing flaw in the software that causes this problem. Razor and I were always going to find a solution but he found work that had long hours so it went to the back burner. Maybe now that we have more time we can look into it.

A solution I figured out a long time ago was to avoid Joomla whenever I wanted to just go to the forum. To do this, just create a bookmark that takes you directly there: http://clandou.com/html/forum/

Since doing so, I have found the forum experience to be much better.

That doesn't help the link issue.
