Her old dell is a pile of shit and now that she has been hired as a kindergarten teacher we need to get her a new laptop. I'm pretty set on having all my electronics Samsung but I could be swayed. We are looking for a cheap but good LT. I want it to have Windows 7 but other than that it doesn't need to be much. Just as long as it can get on the internet (WIFI) and be a decent speed we would be good.
Suggestions?

Well actually you can as our dell is a pile of shit. Her parents have 3 and they are all shit. Never seen a group of computers so prone to crashing and battery problems

Not sure what you expect from a laptop, they are all shit, and are obsolete in 3 months, expensive to update. The life expectancy is about 3 years then it's time to upgrade.

I repair more Dells, HPs and Acers than any other brand of laptop.
The two brands I almost never see for repair are ASUS and Lenovo.
Lenovo are made by IBM which has been in the game since the dawn of time.

I see ALL lappys for virus cleanups... but as for not needing actual repairs...

A month ago I bought for my daughter ASUS 15,6" K56CB-XO100-8 i7-3537U / 8GB /750 /DVD-RW GT740 without OS. I installed Windows 7 in it. Asus is a good brand. My son bought 3 years ago LT ASUS 17". No problems with it so far.

As a computer tech... the top laptops I see for repair are #1 Dell, #2 Acer. #3 HP. #4 Sony....
The ones I almost never see with hardware issues are Lenovo (made by IBM) and Asus

I have Dell laptop and never have any problem. Ha ha... gotta love linux tho!
