Sure, he could have just grabbed the keys and driven off, but what's the fun in that? No punishment could be too severe for trash like this guy. As for the bystanders, I don't know what the hell to think about them. I watched another video the other day where a cop is fighting for his life trying to...

AMD is lagging Intel and Intel intends for it to stay that way. The loss of market share to AMD over the last couple of years is not likely to happen again unless Intel does their complacency thing- unlikely. I expect that the new AMD processors will do no more than achieve some kind of parity with ...

A quote from Phil Villareal, Arizona Daily Star:

For years scientists have theorized that one day Nicolas Cage would overact so badly that his head would burst into flames. Now, with Ghost Rider, the phenomenon has finally come to pass.

A teraflop at 62 watts- that's amazing. Another article I read described a teraflop computer built a few years ago using 200 MHz Pentiums: 10,000 processors consuming 500 kW, and another 500 kW to cool the room it was in. :P

Boy, that's really stupid. I'm glad I didn't spend, oh, half an hour whacking a penguin. I quit at 319.8. I like how it plants its beak on the high flies.

I think map knowledge and skill are way more important than hardware. I know hardware helps, but UT99 was written for hardware a lot less capable than anything we run today. Of the hardware choices, I'd say the graphics card is the most important, but I don't have any personal experience with top-of...

Translocator questions

I don't know what other category to put this in, since it's just general UT stuff. There are some players who are extraordinarily adept at using the translocator. Meat is one, of course, and I see Elvis is getting good, and a couple of others. I do not understand how they do what they do. Doesn't UT...

Carlin was a favorite of mine for years: clever, witty, and with a fresh and peculiar view of things that gave us all cause to think. That said, the last time I heard him (probably a year or two ago) I thought he was simply vulgar and totally absent of humor or wit. Clearly, one of us changed. Someh...
