The Elevator only runs to the 7th floor. How can that be if he lives on the tenth floor, unless 3 floors are beneath ground and the elevator does not go down there. Well he never said that the guy took the elevator from the tenth floor - only that he lived on the tenth floor. The riddle actually go...

Doode had the hiccups. He asked for a glass of water to stop his hiccups but the bartender pointed a gun at the doode, which scared the hiccups away, so doode said thank you and left. Then went back to his apartment building that has an elevator that only goes to the 7th floor.
