Shout out to the non-US forum browsers

Unread post by {DOU}Cygnus »

Wow, no new recipes in the last 6 months.
I've been thinking about some of the changes I'll need to make when I can eat solid food again. Some things I'l have to do but there is one in particular I want to do. I plan on trying to make at home once or twice a week authentic non-US meals. I've been checking some of this out on the web and much of it sounds like good stuff! So far I've checked out Polish, Greek and Brazilian. I don't like and probably can't do the hot & spicy stuff but I am interested in everything else.

For those of you who are not from the U.S..... What's your favorite your country has to offer?

Above I give links to the BIGOS recipe (stewed cabbage) - one of the best polish dish. Bigos tastes best after several days of cooking (of course with breaks), in the winter season (well warmed up) and with a few glasses of vodka. :D
Try to prepare, it is easy and tasty

I have Russian blood running through my veins so the vodka will work, but that other stuff looks like someone puked on a plate :puke:

Sometimes I can get pork roasts pretty cheap. That would be perfect for Bigos. Betcha it would be perfect for the crock pot too.
I will definitley try this over the winter.

Bison, because you are, like I noticed, a very gentle and sensitive person, I suggest that you reversed the order. At the beginning try to drink a few glasses of vodka, and then be no difference whether you eat BIGOS, or ... ...
...something else.

Although, I assure that the dish is very tasty, despite the appearance of.
There are many other delicious dishes typical of Polish cuisine, such as
tripe (FLACZKI),

blood sausage (KASZANKA)

and my favourites dumplings (PIEROGI RUSKIE)
