Shortcut problem

Unread post by {DOU}Cygnus »

Had to do a limited restore yesterday and now no link to any game or ventrilo works. All I get is the "OPEN WITH" menu and a bunch of choices that have nothing to do with whatever game I'm trying to open.
Is there a fix for this?

search for the .exe file of program you want to fix shortcut for. (eg.Teamspeak.exe) you need to fix, right click on it and choose create shortcut. sometimes it will tell you it is being put on desktop, or will create in working folder then you just need to copy paste it to desktop, delete old non working shortcut. and rename new one if you like.
If you need further assistance I am on TS most of the time.

Sounds like you restored to a point before these programs were installed. The files are there but no registry entries. For UT, Grubb is right: find the .exe and create a short-cut to it. TS, Vent, and other programs, even UT2004, may need to be re-installed entirely to fix them.
