For Omegaman: Boot to Desktop

Unread post by {DOU}The Jargonaut »

O,
I finally got this to work. It is tricky but works.
1. Click Start > Run
2. Type ‘cmd‘, hit enter
3. At the command prompt type: control userpasswords2
4. A Windows-2000 looking window will popup, and under the Users tab uncheck the option selected, “Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To Use This Computer”
5. Click OK
6. Enter the username and password of the account you would like Windows to automatically log into after booting up
7. Close, reboot windows to test it out, and rejoice

You will HAVE to input a password twice for this to work and make sure that your login is the one that you select to login.
Good luck!

Step 2 can be omitted. Instead of the cmd prompt, just copy and paste control userpasswords2 in the Run box. Follow the instructions from there. Make sure that the login that pops up on the Welcome screen that you click to login is the one that you are passwording. This will be the default login.
