some puter advise please

hey all i have a dell xps410 intel core2 6600 2 gigs memory and a nvidia geforce 8800 gtx wid like 768 megs of mem on it. now not the best out there but i think a its a decent setup for games, although on some of the bigger maps i have really bad lag and only in ut99. i play fear, ut2004, ut3 demo, and no probs with them. cable internet so is there anyway for me to get the lag out or advise ive tryed everything i know

thx for offering the help pepcak i finally got rid of VISTA and went to strictly xp pro its all good so far
