After my system overheating issues I decided to go a little further to help with the cooling of my gaming laptop so I went out to the local home improvement store and found these metal rings to use as feet to keep the laptop off the table a little to increase airflow. I put those self adhering felt pads for furniture legs underneath each one so not to scratch the table and it gives them just a bit more height, just over 1/2 inch total. Works great and the molded feet under the laptop drop into the holes in the metal rings so the laptop is securely on top of them and can't slide off. Running in the high 30's now at idle.

Re: Cooling the gaming laptop
I'm sure increasing airflow is better that buying an expensive cooling base.
