Threshold is one of three new sci-fi invasion type shows that came out this year (the other two are Invasion and Surface).

Well, Threshold was the first to get the axe. It has not been picked up for a full first season. There are a few episodes left to air, so if your into the show, watch it while you can.

I figured that it would get the axe. The idea wasn't bad at first, but they took too many liberties with regard to physics and biology.

Of the three I guess Invasion is the best, but I personally would be surprised if it makes it too. They could turn it around, but I dunno if that will happen. As for Surface, I switched that bitch off half way through the pilot episode. They are marketing a childrens show to adults. A childrens show with occassional senseless violence, but lame nonetheless. The first time the kid hid the alien thing in the bathtub and it looked up all cuddly like it thought the kid was it's mommy, I was done...puked behind the couch and went to bed. I want to see pissed off aliens with seriously advanced weapons technology here to make a point. Just leave Tom Cruise out of it (He has enough problems anyway trying to figure out how to come out of the closet).

All three ( Invasion, Surface, Threshold)started off with a bang then they went and got themselves lost. Hey maybe they ARE "the others". I watched all and about the fifth of sixth week they were all wandering. It got to the point that I was looking for fear factor reruns. I don't even DVR them any more.

Yeah, Invasion did get weak, but it re-discovered it's focus and now it isn't bad.

As for threshold, the next to last episode so far explained why the aliens are "supposedly" doing whate they are (it's unclear if the good guys believe it). Supposedly a long time ago a star bit the big one and the radiation from the explosion is just now about 6 years away from reaching Earth. The aliens are trying to alter us so that we will survive the radiation and continue to exist. Ummm...wasn't that an episode of the uter limits from about 5 years ago? In the outer limits episode it was our sun that shifted to the red or something similar, but the rest of it is the same, even the using sound deal to be the catalyst for altering us. Huge ripoff if you ask me. I'm gonna have to assume that the same writers are involved or else there would already have been a major lawsuit.
