Top 10 Cinematic fights

Unread post by {DOU}Cygnus »

I was watching "The Last of the Mohicans" tonight (BTW, Awesome, Awesome movie...Go rent it NOW) and I remembered a 'Top-10' post that I did on a sports board some time ago.......

Cygnus X-1's Top 10 Cinematic Fights:
(In no particular order)

1) Last of the Mohicans....Magua vs. Chingachgook
Short but very intense.....DO NOT piss Chingachgook off!

2) The Quiet Man....Dannahur(sp?) vs. Thornton
IMO, John Wayne's best fight ever.

3) Phantom Menace....Darth Maul vs. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon
One of the few high points in a movie that fell short in so many places.

4) Revenge of the Sith....Darth Vader vs. Obi-Wan
Intense.

5) Blazing Saddles....The Brawl.
Mel Brooks....enuf said.

6) Robin Hood....Robin Hood vs. Sherrif of Knottingham
Well done but Sir Basil Rathbone would've hacked Errol Flynn into little pieces in 1/10th of the time in a real fight.

7) Highlander....Connor vs. The Kurgan
There can be only one!

8) Highlander, Endgame....Duncan vs. Jacob Kell
See #7

9) Fellowship of the Ring....Aragorn vs. The Uruk-Hai
Gandalf vs. the Balrog was a close 2nd.

10) The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly....Tuco vs. Angel Eyes vs. Blondie
3-way showdown. Tense.

I'm sure there's others just as good if not better that I've missed or forgotten.

I can't believe you left out the terminator fights!!!

#1 - Sara Connor Vs. The T101

#2 - The T101 Vs. The T1000

#3 - The T700 Vs. The TX

Yes, Arnies model # has changed, guess he was an upgraded model of the T101. They made a mistake regarding that in T3. They state he is the T700, but then later when telling John Connor that he was the Terminator who killed him, he said his model was selected for the termination assignment because of John Connors boyhood affinity with that model. That model in T2 was the T101. If they look / act the same it wouldn't matter, but it was still a mistake made by the writers.

Been a long time since I've seen either T1 or T2 and I haven't yet seen T3.

T3 in a nutshell...the best special effects ever put into a movie up to that point, a gay / lame story hurts the movie. It is still VERY MUCH worth seeing though. I really hope that T4 has a better story though. It is "supposed" to be the first of the movies that doesn't involve time-travel.

That is an understatement. I can't help but think that if James Cameron were the director, the movie would have been much better.
