got a new modem the old one could cope with the upload speed of 768 k max that i get but it couldn't with the 20 meg download speed i get.

ping's to the server are around 150 ish mark.

Yep thats cool can't wait till Thursday my router arrived today I wanna see what this engineer has to say and he can sort it lol may as well get my moneys worth. :twisted:

Finally, Charter will be offering 16 / 2 starting November 1st. I couldn't give a rats ass about going from 10 to 16 as 10 is fast enough most of the time, but increasing the uplink from 1 to 2 megs will be very nice.

Nice posts people. When I first got 10 meg speed I was the fastest guy on the forum. Then in the past 2 years an awful lot of you have passed me in speed. As of November 1st I will be 16 / 2 which means many of you will still have a faster downlink than me, but I think I will be king of the uplink again. Wabbit might be faster though, I dunno.

Here is something some of yall might find interesting. I recently installed kde desktop and VNC on C-oPs linux box basically giving it a desktop to work with instead of all command-line stuff. I've always been curious if there was a difference in bandwidth between a Linux Server and a Win Server sitting in the same datacenter sharing the same connection out. The cool thing is is that this is very comparable to yalls server because it's the same provider that we and C-oPs use.
