My 11 month old Western Digital 250gig HDD took a shit today. I think there was blood in the stool too.

I am not out of commission but I am also not a happy camper right now.

If I cannot get it recovered much is lost. The list so far is:

All my TV shows
All my Movies
All my mp3's
All my Quake 2 Maps
All my Goat Pron
All my Fucking rare and impossible to ever find again cooking shows
All my Audio Books
All my hair

dont know how plauseble it is but i have seen some post on sights showing how to remove the disk from one hardrive and put them in to another probly not very easy but if the info you dont want to lose is important enough might be worth a try

Umm... How bad is it??? I don't think that I ever saw a WD die yet... More or less MAXTOR's take dumps more often!

I heard that Sandisk is boasting a new Solid state HD!!! might be worth checking out with most "POWER USERS"... But they seem to be limited with size for the moment but big on speed!

Backups are a pain and when I got my 200 gig HD it was full in a week...

When I helped my Aunt backup her soon to fail computers I picked up a 320 GIG HD - Western Digital.
