Vista problems

Unread post by southpaw_decoy »

not really a surprise but i'm having trouble getting ut99 to run. the game itself runs but it won't query servers.

under system log it says

scriptwarning: ubrowserserverping entry.ubrowserping1 (state ubrowser.ubrowserserverping.binding:0010) bindport: already bound
scriptlog: ubrowserserverping: port failed to bind attempt1

it repeats that error and each time the "entry.ubrowserping1" goes up one number.

Mine does that as well but it just querys the servers sloooooooooooow....

I dont play ut enough on the lappie to have really plunged into this, but one thing that does seem to help some is this...

Fire up Ut, then alt-tab out of it. Then press ctrl-shift-esc and that will pull up the task manager. Once you get to the processes tab right click on unrealtournament.exe and click set affinity.

Then uncheck CPU1. this will run the program on one core. It helps some for sure, but it still runs sluggish on the server query side of things.

Theres a patch too I guess released by AMD to help with this. Google UT99 dual core fix and have a read on it.

Good luck!
