ok, so I was having severe trouble with my AGP Video Card to find out that the Card connector just doesn't contact the video card properly so I decided to pick up a new M/B...
This thing sucks for memory and PCI slots...
Maybe just go basic with it as it is only a replacement to my old 754 CPU M/B.
Can only run 2 DDR's which I have 3 of 512 Megs... Change AGP to PCI-E???
Found a PCI-E x16 Video Card for $10.00!!! 256 Meg version...
I will hopefully enjoy my computer again!

Replacing M/B?

Re: Replacing M/B?
OMG, I think you can enter that MB into the Classics category. Seriously though let me know if you need a hand. I am not good with software but I can build the crap out of a PC.

Re: Replacing M/B?
Apparently there's a call for AMD 754 M/B's as they are getting verry hard to find... May stick my old one up on E-Bay and see how much it goes for???
Then again, I should be mostly up and running again... Unfortunately my work schedule sucks for weekends.

Well it's not a X1300 but I'm sure this will Kick ass!
I gotta thank my little broter for selling me this puppy for my Fallout 3 game... I also gave him my Gears of War too... some games are best left unplayed. :'(
Although this option looks tempting!

You could overclock that card a little but you need some better cooling. I think I seen your temps at 50C
so if you do overclock it get an aftermarket VGA chipset cooler or an easy way would be to get a
pci slot cooler.

I would do better by using liquid cooling but I would like a better case to start and I think that I may need a better(newer) Power Supply.Concrete wrote:You could overclock that card a little but you need some better cooling. I think I seen your temps at 50C

I had already replaced the "Noisy" Fan when it was chewing at the circuit board... just in time!
Here's a shot of the Old AGP 4x/8x "Visiontek" ATI Radeon X1300 512 Meg viddy card!
Here's a shot of the NEW ATI Radeon X1650 Pro PCI-E 16x 512 Meg viddy card!
But I'm not too sure what to do with this thing???
Sell the immense heatsink for scrap and buy a new computer? The heatsink wraps over and behind the card!

Re: Replacing M/B?
I think that I would have to SLI 4 of the NVidia EN7600GS's to match that! LOL!
I was looking for a 9600GT... somehow it has more flexibility with rendering a stereo Image.
