Great Horror Movies

Unread post by Otis_Firefly »

Saw two great Horror movies this week. If you're into that kinda stuff - check em out!

"They" 2008 - if you liked "The Strangers" - you'll love this movie! A true story about some crazy shit in Russia.

"Quarantine" 2008 - one of the best I've seen in the Bio-Threat/Zombie genre! If you hated "The Blair Witch Project" - you'll love this movie!

They bored me but Quarantine was much better than I thought it would be.
I love horror movies. By far my favorite genre. But Im sick and tired of this PG13 horror movie bullshit. They are meant to have tons of violence, gore, blood and TITS!

They're both on DVD Mama.

I'm surprised you didn't like "They" Abberation. It wasn't bloody and gratuitous, but intense as hell.

This is where Otis_Firefly came from: http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi2079392025/ and http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi284426521/ - two movies that every horror fan should see.

Yes B-Movies are totally kewl too. My personal Fave is "Evil Dead 2". Never seen the one you mentioned Mama, but I'll look for it. And "Killer Clowns.." was GREAT! There was another B movie that came out around the same time as Killer Clowns called "Liquid Sky" - not really a horror movie but fucking weird non-the-less.

Movies like "The Reanimator", "From Beyond" and "Videodrone" are a few more, but as a big horror buff I'd like to pay homage to the newer films that are coming out that sort of push the limits. After a few years of BS horror movies like "The Grudge" and "Jeepers Creepers" - It's time we had a Horror Movie Revolution. So I'll be posting my faves here - much like Rev does with the Song of The Week Thread.

Going to see "Drag me To Hell" tonight - I'll let you guys know what I think later.

I really have no good expectations from that movie. Its in the PG13 bullshit range I mentioned.

If you want to laugh your ass off watch "Gag" Its so bad it made me giggle like a little girl.

I need more zombie movies. I think I have everyone ever made. A bunch of shit movies but its all so Im prepared for when it really happens

Well Abberation - if you like B movies "Drag me to Hell" is a great high production B Movie and Sam Raimi at his very best. Keep in mind this guy has been at it since the early 80's.
Over-acted, unbelievable, hilarious, and completely worth it if you are a fan of campy horror movies. It ain't gonna scare you, but thats sort of the point with this director. Sam Raimi also directed "Evil Dead", "Spiderman", "A Simple Plan", "Darkman" and "The Gift". I loved it!

Oh - sorry - no tits either.
