pile of shit sound connection

My sound runs through a mic style stereo plug out split into RCAs and connected to longer RCAs running to the amp. Like every other one I've ever seen.

Why the hell does my sound keep going away until I pull the plug out put it back in the computer? Cable seems to be losing connection. 2 cables ago did the same, replaced it and the next one worked ok but the RCA end would cause crackling until I moved the connector. Got mad and tore that one in half and got a new one. Brand new one keeps losing one channel until I pull it out and put it back. Maybe I need to slather it in dielectric grease? I already kicked the shit out of my computer several times hard enough that it froze...

I would do this...
Slightly crimp the male connectors a bit to make them tighter. (hey don't giggle now)

Then, clean both the female and male contacts very good and do NOT touch them with your fingers.

Maybe add dielectric grease, but sparingly.
