Crappies are some of the best tasting fish around.
Never heard them called "speckled perch".

Down here they are pronounced "crap"py. Up north I think it is more pronounced "crop"py. But yes, they are great food 😀
Well, last weekend wasn't bad either, ended up with these 14 (28 more fillets in my freezer 😀 ) Blue Gills Saturday. Couple smaller ones but some nice sized ones that covered your hand. They look small in the pictures but they were definitely worth the filleting time 8)
And came home with 23 (46 more fillets in my freezer) Sunday 8)
Hopefully gonna get some more this afternoon ❗
Got a few more today 🙄 (I only brought 5 keepers home 🙁 ) My uncle caught more than me but I ended w/his fish too 😈
I still got 50 more fillets going in my freezer 😀
