ACE (the new anti-cheat) has finally been released, although in beta.
Tonight I will be installing it on our server. I will let it run and all of you can report back if there are any serious problems. The server restart script is still active so if ACE crashes the server, the server will come back up as usual.
While I am at it, I will make sure that the no close kill mut and r mad's 2 new maps make it to the server as well.
I will have to remove UTDC and UTDC Plus as they are not compatible with ACE. This is good news for all of you windows 7 and other 64bit users as you will now be able to connect to the server and play.
I will post again when this is done.

It's been awhile since I have done any major work on the server and I came to find that a lot of my old tools don't work on Vista. It took half the night but I am getting it done now.
For the first update, the new version of Darth Thane is on the server and should be vote-able. It is also on redirect. Please let me know that both of those statements are true.
As for the Graveyard map, I found a serious problem with it that has prevented it's being installed on the server. I have sent R a PM and hopefully this can be resolved quickly. She is the only person who can fix it however.
Now on to ACE.

We are currently back to the old configuration.
For some reason I can only stay in the server for about a minute before I am kicked because of an "ACE Internal Error," whatever the fuck that means.
Please bare with me as I work to resolve this.

OK, so here is the deal.
1 of R_Mad's 2 maps is on the server. I need to wait until I hear back from her to find out what to do about the graveyard map. My guess is that she will have to fix it and while it may be a hassle it is doable.
Next, I have ACE working. There is a problem however with how it installs. If certain maps are in play, the NpLoader will fail to install properly. The fix is to wait for another map and then re-join. Once ACE is installed the maps will no longer be a problem. I figure that in a week or 2 everybody will have ACE anyway so it is the lesser of 2 evils. The other evil is of course having poor cheat protection. ACE is already busting people all over the net, so it is a good thing.
Last, I did not have enough time to get to installing the no close kill mod, ACE was a fight to get set up. I will try to get to this last mod in the morning. I have to crash to go to work tonight.
Anyway, enjoy ACE, all Windows 7 and all 64 bit players can not join in the games. Hopefully the server will get mad busy again. Remember to play at home, people join populated servers.

P.S. Once this is done, I think I will finally start working on the 2k4 invasion server.

The way they are now, they are probably programmed to run up to players and close kill/assault them when you get to close to them.
Can the bots keep doing this with the mod on? A human player would leave following the rules when he enters an occupied spot.
Will the bots do this also? If not then they will continuing shooting at close range.
Or is there perhaps a possibility to activate the mod automaticly when there are more then 7 (human) players if this would be a problem?

At the close kill mod, bots continue assaulting people, because the bot paths are set in the maps, not in the server. But if a bot shooting at you at close range, he will die like any other player...
