Awhile ago I changed the forum to what you see now. It was intended to be a temporary measure until I created something better.
As usual, I got a bit distracted, and time went by. Awhile ago I came back and saw that a forum update was pending. I tried to do the update but it failed because of some of the changes I made. So I said fuck it and more time went by.
Well, now I see a strong need for something that looks better. Not for the few people that still come here, but rather for those that we will be recruiting once the new UT4 server is completed.
Where I am right now is with a fucked forum that I cannot patch, and as a result, cannot improve or work with. So here is what I am going to do. I will of course test the following ahead of time to make sure it works. I will install a new fresh copy of the forum to a different path. Then I will patch said forum to the latest version. Then I will attempt (I expect this to work) to add to the forum a backed up copy of the current forum database. If all goes well then you will all see a different style but no loss of messages otherwise. After that, for now, I am thinking I will install a php portal. It will look better then what we have now anyway. Then we can see what is what and where we can go from here.
I will be amazed if I get more then 3 people responding to this...
UT4 is so far a very good game. There already appears to be some interest in DOU from people we have met out there. The point is that those who still come around may see us as busy as we ever were sometime soon. We need to be ready for this.

Don't know how much time I'll have in regards to gaming but I'll try to get around a bit.
O.K., heres an update.
I was able to patch the forum all the way up to version 3.2 with no ill effects to the database. This was a test run so nothing here has been changed yet.
So this now leaves me with a few options. I can patch all the way up to 3.2 and see what portal options I can use, or step back to a 3.1.x version. There will be more options with 3.1.x but I will see if something is acceptable for 3.2 since that would be most desired.
I have tomorrow night off so I plan to do more work then. Hopefully the forum will at the very least be patched to 3.1.x and live for us to use.
