There is a need to change the server rules. There is also a need for all of us to help enforce the rules. This thread is being started to discuss what rules we need. Some of the rules that have been brought up are:
No image drop.
No tele camping.
No R&G.
No chasing down spawners.
Please take the time to think of what pisses you off and post rules you think we need to add or delete. Keep in mind while we do need rules we also need to keep this a fun place.
Rules will be posted on the Welcome screen you get each time you log in.
No matter what rules we decide on we all need to follow them and enforce them or they become usless.
Tommy,
1/ What do you call tele camping ?
2/ I agree with what Cygnus said : no "freestyle and no run and gun". I think a difference is that freestyle allows to translocate in an endless way until you find someone. Run and gun is almost the same but only running around the maps until... boom
3/ You could add "no hunting" when someone has been shot in one place by a player, you're not allowed to come back to that place to revenge. You must revenge from away from that spot (SAS clan rules for example)
4/ No "spawn killing" : you must not use your spawn protection to dance around someone and shoot him as soon as you hear your spawn protection is ending. Of course it gives you an advantage to nuke the other !
But if our Redeemer server is a pure freestyle server, I think it would be a really good training to play sniping then. I think in the ladder, a bit of freestyle is what we miss sometimes. It makes a good differnece even if we know the map.
When we fail a lot is above all because we don't know the maps perfectly (that's why I think we could do DOU vs DOU picking maps in the ladder list only !) 😉

Tele-camping to me is hiding near or behind a teleporter and fragging people as they come out of it. This really seems to set people off, myself included. It is frowned upon in the UT community. Agreed?

Is sitting ON a teleporter the same thing??? 😆 😆 😆 😆

Ok Tommy !
I know that some clans don't accept "tele camping" (can't remember which one I saw like that ?...)
But I know that main forbidden rules around are :
No hunting
No run and gun
No spawn killing (to be fooling around a player while you're under your spawn protection to shoot him as soon as you hear the end sound)
No revenge (a bit different from no hunting)
so, I agree with any rule that protects gaming interest !...
(lol, I started this answer yesterday evening and I send it now, the day after !) Damn work !!!!
I am VERY close to having the new mapvotela13 for the server done. When that is done I will update the mapvote welcome window so that it states the new rules along with the old ones. This will also all be posted on the nuke site sometime this week.

What if you had a favourite camping spot in certain maps???

Sometimes you end up spawning right behind or in front of people... I thought that was the funny part which you had to wait... But if you end up running to avoid that which would make you vulnerable for someone else to spot you...

When you have a favourite spot, you have at least to try to kill the player in that spot From another place and then, may be you can go in that fav place (without run and gunning to get there !!!)
And when you spawn behind or in front of someone or in any close position, you have to go away and if you want/can, try to kill that guy from another place !
And the guy you spawned close to isn't supposed to kill you at your spawn protection ending while you're leaving.
These are rules that are tough but this makes good matches !

Have to agree with Moon. I hate it when I spawn near someone and leave only to have them behind me when my spawn protection ends.
I always do say something to them then though.
