O.K., I have started working on this.
I figure the ladder can start accepting challenges on September 7th (Day after Labor day), for play starting that following weekend. That is about a month from now. Read: Just 4 weeks people. Here is what we need to do in that time.
1 - I need to clone the existing server so that we have a 2nd one in case there are a lot of players. I can do a 3rd server as well if need be, but I will not run one until we deem it necessary.
2 - Clan members need to start building teams and getting registered at fraggednation.com.
3 - We need to decide who we will be inviting to play with us. Remember, as previously discussed, to make this a big and successful ladder, we decided to allow non-dou members to play. The rule is that they cannot ask to join, we have to invite them. The reason is so that we just invite people who we know whill be good campers and play by our rules. We need to get on this immediately. I will create another area for people to throw out names. Then if nobody objects, the person may be approached and asked to play with us. Nobody shoud ask a person until we give it the O.K. We need to streamline this process though so we aren't dicking around for a month.
4 - We need to decide on settings for the server and maps for the matches. Do we want to have a 2 V 2 Ventrilo meeting to discuss this after we know who will be playing? I think it would be a good idea and could have it around 2 - 3 weeks from now.
5 - I need to know what else, what I haven't thought of yet.
You all wanted this, and I am prepared to make it happen, so let's get to it.

What can we do to get people interested?

I’ve played in {DOU}United and in {DOU}Extreme. I like to play the {DOU} 2 vs 2 matches.
I don’t think I can form a team with Bonk at the moment so if anyone is interested I’m available.
The problem is that most members don’t seem to be interested anymore in matches. Maybe it’s because of experiences in the past with the FN Ladder, but this 2 vs 2 is something quite different from that. In my opinion it would be a great experience for new members and recruits to join in and try this. Hopefully they will enjoy it and will be participating again in a next match if this one’s gonna take place.
I am interested but lack the availability to commit to being there and would not want to let my team mate down.
I'd be willing to be a third for a couple of other people in my position.

thats sort of the thing i'm trying to avoid, i really don't want to get into a situation where i'm obligated to be on. sure, I more than likely will be on when the time comes to play, and I've really enjoyed the arranged matches I've played with DOU, but I'd rather just do matches every weekend or every other weekend with whomever is on rather than setup teams and have someone relying on me being there to get to play. The obligation is why i quit playing WoW. I felt like I had to be there whether I felt like it or not or i would be letting my team (or friends, however you want to look at it) down.
for example, i love the freezetag we do on weekend mornings, but I can't always make it.
Match is a good thing, but when? It's hard to gather team members at the same time. Maybe appoint a date of match and see who will sign up.

Ive only had the chance to be in one 2v2 but it was a LOT of fun
yall know i am game, and im available quite often as long as i have notice. However since not to many people showed interest through posting when this thread and the other 2v2 threads were made, i dont know how easy it would be to organize.
I would be happy to partner with anyone. Just send me a tell and i will make us into a team on FN, that way if we do get this off the ground we can be prepared ahead of time.
Part of the problem is that 80% of the clan doesn't read these posts. We need a way to get the word out.

Ill make a keybind and hit it every 15 or so minutes while im in the server letting DOUs who dont logon often know.
