I like the servers and I like that we are a poplular team amongst the UT community but I wish dam(n) well that I could involve myself more here...

WE are a GOOD TEAM and I would like to see it that way...

Let's cut to the chase.

Tommy: What would make you happy? While we are all members of this team, you are the leader. Damn the hard feelings that it may cause. What do you think is the best for this (your) clan?

Clan Members: Are you willing to support Tommy in whatever his decision is? Think about this before you answer.

Let me just say that the main reason that I play is the competition. Whether it be on the FN ladder, DOU vs. DOU, or casual playing, I am in it for the sport. I do not care to be chatty on teamspeak which is why I do not like to use it when playing casually. I DO think that it is a powerful tool in team games. But it is basically just a distraction in one versus everyone else games. That said, though I really love the BA server, I can live without it (or better yet can live with it without the DOU name on it). As long as we are unified as a team, I am good to go. In my opinion, splitting the clan up is a useless and self defeating idea.

I have never had the proper timing to participate in any of the competitions that {DOU} has arranged. I have always enjoyed the servers and the forums when I get a chance to use them. Regardless of whatever decisions are made a big THANK YOU! is in order for Tommy for starting Clan {DOU} and maintaining the servers, forums, and teamspeak server (as well as all of the helpers that I am sure are involved). I came over because some folks I had met playing on some redeemer servers pointed me here. I have never regretted the decision to join. I only wish I had some more time to play and be able to become a contributor to the sniper matches.

Tommy, you have to do what you feel is right for you. Thanks again if you decide to make sweeping changes that may or may not include me.

Hope to keep up with some folks I have met here, and am pretty sure that will happen.

Well, folks to avoid splitting the clan apart in some big drama, the problem will be removing itself. I'm leaving DOU effective immediately and shutting down the 1v1 uzi ladder.

In the beginning, I was perfectly content with just playing. Then, my insatiable desire to learn something new kicked in and I learned how the servers work. Tommy gave me a server to admin. From the first minute I was given some responsibility, I completely went ape-shit. Our multi-server was a huge hit to the point that it has spawned many copy-cat servers in the UT world and a fairly successful FN ladder. Just about every clan out there has there own flavor of uzi now. It used to draw alot of people. It's kind of like trend setting music: once everyone starts playing the same stuff, the trend dies. Over the last week, I came to realize that the server was dying and tried one last thing to give it a little bit of life.

The bolt-action rifle that we have been using on the server became my obsession. With the help of HappyCamper and Walknbulleye, it turned out awesome. It's popularity is testament to that, but I can't let my obsession ruin something bigger than me, that being DOU. I understand why Tommy feels the way he does. DOU is great and the people are first rate. Unfortunately, I kind of feel betrayed by the one person I thought would never do that. I'm not necessarily angry but I feel hurt that I wasn't told about this before It went public. It could have been resolved alot easier with less stress on the clan if I had been approached about it before hand. Even if it all were returned to how it was before this post was ever made, it still wouldn't feel the same.

The webspace that my wife has offered is still available to those who use and need it. I will be seeing you guys on the servers and those who need to get a hold of me have my email. I just want everyone to understand that I have no hard feelings towards anyone. You all are a great bunch of folks. Have a good one and take care all.

I thought about this for quite awhile before I posted. The reason I didn't come to you directly is because I didn't feel that this was about you and didn't want you to think so and take it personally. If anything it was about me since I was the one who seemed to have the problem.

I don't see any problem with leaving the server up if you'd like to continue with this. I'd hate to see this ladder get killed off, especially mid-season.

Interesting discussion, and I am quite surprised by the emotions that are being displayed.

I joined DOU for the people, not the games. In fact, my favorite before I joined was a R&G sniper server called "A Snipers Extreme" or something like that. But a large number of the players on that server were unmitigated pricks and assholes, and I wanted to play with folks of good humor who are decent and civilized, and I found that here. Except Tommy. Just kidding. Some of the other DOU members I first met while playing on that other server.

The upshot is that I enjoy different game types; I like Uzi because of its speed; I like redeemer a lot, but no one seems to play on the DOU server, so I go to CG or Kid or *cough* Meat's server; and I most enjoy the team games, but those apparently were a passing fancy for everyone else. I even enjoy sniper occasionally even though I lack the patience for some of the slower maps and I get my ass handed to me. Of the two sniper games, I prefer the main server to the BA one, but I even enjoy BA once in a while.

I'm surprised that folks complained about players being drawn away from the main server. I guess I saw it happen, and was myself "lured" away, and never gave it a second thought. But then second thoughts are not my strong point...

I completely understand Tommy's position, and it's too bad it's causing a rift in the clan. I don't think that anything Tommy said takes away from Draco's considerable achievements and contributions to the clan. Stargate is a terrific map, and it has become a clan favorite. The bolt action rifle is excellent, and has certainly developed a following (as noted by Tommy...). And I loved the little junior redeemer that came and went. I'd hoped it would become popular, but no, it too was just a trifle... 😥

I sincerely hope that Draco and dim reconsider, but if they don't, c'est la vie, and best wishes. I'll continue to enjoy the company here even if we go back to only sniper.

Well what can I say? I like both of them. I have no problems with either of them Except I dont like that camp mode in BA. Some maps require that you run longer then the camp mode allowes just to find a good camp site. I've learned to react quicker and zoom in farther to get my kill in the BA server. I'd like to think it might have improved my regular sniping game. I had no idea that two different types of sniping could be such a problem. But if we take BA out then what are we gonna do when we get tired of regular sniping again?

As for FN , it was fun at first but the reason why our clan always finishs last is because we play by the rules and other clans bend or just out right break the rules to their advantage. Fragnation has taken the fun outta this game for me.

thats about it for me. you guys decide. not like its really gonna change or do anything to my life anyhow.

I would like to ask for a Clan Meeting on Teamspeak to discuss this. Just letting it fester on the forum seems to be doing nothing but causing rifts. Is this a possibility?
