O.K. people. This post may make me a bit un-popular for a bit, but it has been a long time in coming. I am clan leader, so it is my job to make this post regardless of it's outcome. One way or another I think the clan will be changing in a major way as a result of this post. Please understand that right now all we are doing is talking. No action will be taken in away with anything for the time being. It is very important for everybody to post their thoughts and comments here I'll just get right to it. This clan has completely lost it's focus. I do believe I am the one to blame for this so I will not be laying it on other people. When I created DOU I had in mind a specific type of team, and this is not what we have become. It is my fault for letting things get out of hand, and now it is my responsibility to try to find a solution to this. Of course what I am refering to is the fact that we have become a clan of 2 different types of players, We have our normal snipers and we have our bolt-action players. However, at this time I do not think we can call ourselves a sniping / camping clan. The problem with being a clan of 2 different types (in this case) is that the two seem to be incompatible. It is probably obvious to most of you that I am not a big fan of the bolt action server. It just isn't my thing. Like I said, it isn't the clan that I started or the game that I play. When it first went up it was a mistake for me to even let it go up because of the long standing rule that the clan would have no two servers that competed with each other for traffic. To be honest I didn't think that people intended for it to be a primary server. But it is now up and popular to a degree so we have a situation. However, I must state that the popularity of the server has been artifically inflated. Another rule that has been around as long as DOU has been around is that no members may drive traffic from one server to another. I have been reading the logs lately on the sniper server and see that 3 of our clan members have made it a habit of driving traffic from the sniper server to the bolt action server. When they see people in the sniper server, they jump in and tell these people to go to the bolt action server. I also have an inbox full of complaints about this on my forum account. The result of this is that the sniper server is empty and people are moved to the bolt server to have a game. I have a lot more to say here, but to keep things straight, I will say that I believe what I have said above is fact, and what I am about to say is opinion. It may or may not be right, but for now it is opinion. The bolt action server in my opinion is what I call a "flavor of the month" server. The flavor may last longer than a month, but I am sure you all get the metaphor. Let me explain why I think this is so. When we started out we had a sniper server. Then a few people got restless so we also put up a redeemer server. When this happened, for awhile people drove traffic from the sniper server to the redeemer server and the sniper server suffered. Then when the novelty of the redeemer server wore off people came back to the sniper server. Then people got restless again and the uzi was added and thus a multiserver was born. I will admit I liked the uzi (it was my idea) as I thought it would be a nice distraction. Then the uzi appeal wore off and everybody was back to the sniper server after all the traffic was removed from it. What a drag. Then came jail break. Same deal. Then came Freeze Tag. Same deal. Then came UT2k4. Same deal. Then came the instagib server. Same deal. NOw we have the bolt action server. Same deal? I think it might as without even talking to me it would appear as though a new game type was added to the multiserver. Every time this happens the sniper server, our flagship server, suffers. The server gets to the point where it is about the most popular camping server online, just to have the traffic driven off of it like it is now. Forgetting about the fact that I am not a big fan of the game type myself, here are some other concerns that I have. First, I hate to say this but I think playing on that server has serisouly diminished the camping skill of a large percentage of the clan. When playing other DOU members on the sniper server I have noticed this. I think I am a pretty good player, but I do not think I am *THAT* good. I think that other members are just not as good as they used to be. Next, I think that the server is attracting people to it that we would be better off not having around. A few weeks ago when the FraggedNation pre-season meeting took place, DOU received high praise from the entire community on how good and honest of campers we are. It was mentioned that ref's not even need be around when we play. Now I hear that during the last DOU Vs. Cops match, the cops people complained about us running and gunning too much, and I find out it was a valid complaint. This is coming from Cops, the undesirable eleme...

For those of you who still do not understand why, they are actively recruiting DOU members for their [GAY] clan, and using our resources to do it. Draco is also guilty of hacking and destroying Clan DOU resources.

ChefGeek came into Team Speak last night and went ape-shit. I mean he just lost it from the moment he came into TS. He lied about not being with FUN and not being a member for several days before he quit DOU. How do I know he lied? Because then the fucktard admitted it when he went into round 2 of ape-shit mode. He first said he was just a member of the forum, then he admitted it. Unfortunately Opah Crash was there at the time and had to witness it. He was prety cool about it afterwards.

I did have to kick/ban Chefgeek from TeamSpeak. He just wouldn't stop and he was getting nasty to the point of verbal violence. So as of tomorrow he will be completely banned from EVERYTHING DOU.

I wish these guys would just stop and go do their own thing. If they quit DOU and shit in our faces while doing it, isn't that enough? Why do they even care that we don't want them around? "What, he banned me from the clan I quit? How dare that bastage!!"

About 2:30am EST today someone came on to the server named "icedt" and started bad-mouthing me calling me an ass, etc. Nightwalker was in the server and was suspicious of it so he let me know. I checked the logs found that it was in fact ChefGeek pretending to be someone else.

Good to know that [GAY] is doing so well that they need to keep coming to our servers.

While I am banning all of these guys, the ones that are still causing harm are making our public ban list. Here is the text:

People, seriously, this is one of the people we are getting worked up about because they left DOU. This incident actually made me finally feel better. If we are losing these players, I'd say we got the better end of the deal.

This guy does level 2 tech support for Dell and he doesn't even realize we have logs? "Dude, don't buy a Dell!"

Anyway, I'll have the bans finally done for the games tomorrow and then we will never hear from him again (unless any of you go to their site / servers).

Btw, I dunno if I said anything yet about this...I did talk to the 2 new recruits and I think we are just fine with them. Chains seems to be just happy being here. As for Opah Crash, I think after what he witnessed last night he has no interest at all in going over to [GAY].

O.K., all 6 have now been banned from both the sniper server and the multi server. I have banned all of the I.P.'s that i have for each person. In some cases it was many, in some cases just one. I am not worried about the practice server as it is passworded anyway, and I put no bans on the fraggednation servers since all of this happened AFTER I put those servers up. I am thinking about not offering FN servers next season anyway, gonna think that one through for the next few months.

They may change I.P.'s and get through the bans, but I will deal with that problem if it comes up and not really worry about it now. But if anyone suspects anything, just let me know and I will look into it.

Except if any one of them comes into TS (And I have the ip list right next to me so they will only be in ts for seconds before I issue the ban) they are pretty much gone now. They cannot access our website or forum, and they cannot connect to our game servers. I guess they could email some of us, but if you just delete the mail without responding they will give up pretty quickly. So they are pretty much out of the picture, there is nothing they can do.

I am not restricting anybody from doing anything. If you want to go to their website and chat with them, by all means do so. The point is, otherwise, we will not hear from them again.

I think this is where we can finally get some relief from all of this and start moving on with clan business...having fun. Unless something else comes up I am going to start putting this behind me.

If they change their IP, you can remember which were their pings and, if this is possible, you could track their ping to see if another ping is similar in case of a doubt in the future.

(I don't remeber the name of the small program you sent to me to track MY ping when I was upset about that... and I still am :/ )
