Bad people on the server and no admin to be found.

2 Big I have complained of this many times and have been in the same situation as you have and thats why I wont go on the server when I know there is an admin playing. It is VERY frustrating playing and having these fuck heads come on and spawn kill, run and gun, drop trans, and the list goes on.

best bet is to get something like UT Spy then you can see who is playing and choose at that point whether you want to play on our clan server or some other.

Maybe we need more admins. You've got excellent candidates like _Rad and a couple of regular players that have good heads on there shoulders. Why can't you promote these people. If there is an issue with them not playing or taking time off then shut off that persons privileged until they make a returning request. That wouldn't be too hard to manage I would think.

Bottom line, It sucks to play when the inmates run the asylum!!!!

We need to let all guests know that we mean business and we have to do that 100% of the time.

I moved this from the Complaint Dept., to this member area forum, due you are claiming not only for the bad guests, but claiming also about administrators. (An internal issue)

Not all admins could play every day and every hour and checking every player who plays in our server. So, it is possible some idiots could ruin the games.

Rad is a new administrator since three days ago, and we expect he will do a great job.

Another way to help us, is to write down the names of the players who bother to track them.

Take it easy. This is the cost of having a popular server. A completely quiet server, is an empty server, as there are many...

I am not complaining about admins so much as the infrastructure within our organization. Please don't take that position with me because I know that all of you admins have done a great job doing what you do. I personally thank you and I don't think I have ever conveyed anything but admiration for you R_Mad.

Look, I have asked the Clan on a number of occasions to think outside the box on the infrastructure of it's policing efforts, to no avail. Within my short existence in this Clan I have heard no other theme so greatly contested as this one, by both members and guests alike. At this point I'm made to feel like a whiner for even mentioning this issue. Please do not internalize the message here. I merely want to have conversation to come to a consensus on the fact that we have a problem and then find a solution. I think that if it were me I would say "yes 2Big, I've seen some of the same things you have and we need to have a larger discussion about this". That would then send the message that a brother Clansman was heard and as a member of a strong organization, we consider what you and other Clansman have said and we are going to be proactive about it.

You see, if we don't handle things in and organized manner R_Mad, it is not a organization or a Clan which by the way, in my estimation means "family". Rather, It is a bunch of people that go to a server everyday. Not to mention that it gives an overworked and underpaid administrator even less credibility. Sorry. 🙂

We are, as you say, a popular server. Now that we have amassed on such a large scale, it's time to grow up and grow out and that means planning and then taking action.

Let me just say these final things. Our whining is not just whining. I take offense when I'm made to feel like a complainer. As you know, my life outside of cyberspace is as an engineer and you know better than most R_Mad that we observe problems then finding solutions. Those who find problems and don't bring solutions my be subject to being called a whiner but that's not what's going on. I've also heard the offering of solutions. That's what a good engineer does. That's what a good Clansman should do.

Please do not take this offensively because I like you and all of our other Clan members. I just want to be heard.

I do not believe you are a whiner. The problem that you exposed is fully real and I support all your points. The problem are others. We could discuss the problems for months, but in my opinion without success....

I will send a PM to you exposing my personal points.

On the other hand, as an engineer too, I ever try to explain (and understand) things inside a logical path. But engineering logical, is not the best way to do an analysis respect of any matter in this place or this clan.

In all this years that I've been a member, I never understood what is the logical manner to solve problems here. So, I left to try to solve certain problems and only work trying to do things better each day, until one day I did not feel more interest ..., and I do not know which is my limit.

But for now I'm committed to this clan, and I love my teammates and it encourages me to work for the clan. 😀

At the moment I have minor admin rights, so I couldn't and I didn't want to intervene in the above situation.

From my logs and with help from GameTracker I would have the admin pull up the RSA and IP logs for EX{-_-}DUS. The time would have been between 7:30-8:00pm central time.

If you can bring up the UT99 chat/screen logs from that time frame and could read everything that user said I have no doubt you would have permanently kicked him/her on site.

HELLO is upper management listening? 2Big is just the latest to point out this problem. I offer up a possible solution. Is it possible that whenever 2-3 DOU members vote to kick a player they get kicked? The situation now is a majority of ALL players must vote to kick a player. Clan DOU just lost LENNOX over this crap, AFTER he changed his complete style & an extended recruitment period!

I believe Clan DOU needs to hear from upper management on this issue in a substantive way or more members will leave. It's not like we don't have many players that can be admins but in the meantime 2-3 DOU votes to kick a player would suffice at least in the short term.

I think that its a misunderstanding that you cant tell players what you think of them. The DOU tag in front of your name isn't there as a form of censorship.

Once your wearing the DOU member tag you can tell them what you think of them. I dont have problems with it when members are cursing at some of the stupid noobs they encounter on the server.
