Just so you guys know I have possibly just lost everything I have just put onto my new 500gig hard drive (not good) so I maynot be about for the next couple of days. I have the laptop and will check posts etc. Pretty pee'd of at the moment as I did not have a back up and all my photo's of my family 👿 were moved to this drive. Hopefully Razor can recover it for me.

Have you looked at a boot disk to look at your hard drive for recovery? Lots of linux disks for such things. Or just grab Ubuntu and take a look.
Yell if you need anything.
look for something called pci_filerecovery it's free and it works... unless the HD is completely dead... then use it for target practice!

Just as a suggestion, I don't have a backup drive cause I don't trust those anymore than my regular drives, but all my photos I upload to Shutterfly and my videos I upload to Vimeo I feel that's safer than a backup drive plus you can get prints of the photos if you want.
I burn some stuff to CD as well as a third backup on occassion too.
I hope you don't lose anything!

I have a program called undelete. Finds stuff even after Reformatting.
Let me know if you would like to try it. It is an old program so maybe as a last resort.
Have you tried setting it up as a slave?
