I fall in the latter category of rarely playing on the server. Simply because I prefer a game with 10 or less people in it. Since the server has boomed, I find that it can become frustrating to try and survive a map with 15 or more people in it.

Jarg, you quit for awhile, and then decided to come back. You must as well like it here.
Without a doubt. I like this clan and everybody in it. That is why I want the best for everyone in it. I do not want to slight potential members, but I feel that current members are getting a little frustrated. We should concentrate on our current situation first. After we have that solved, then we can work on recruiting.

I'm glad I'm here and that obviously shows in my participation level, however it also seems that we are some kind of Orphanage that takes in any stray UT player that comes along. It is also my contention that we should focus on quality and not quantity.
Yes, I am here right now as a full member and this thread has been generated in MY TIME as a member. I stand by my original post.
Keep in mind that I also played here for close to 18 months before I applied.
I agree with Otis.
I also agree with R-Mad in the post above this.

Don't mis-understand what I said people. I am just about keeping the application open. If we want to make it more difficult to actually join, that is fine with me. I was never for just letting anybody in, especially people we know nothing about.
Not every unknown who asks to join disappears either. I will agree that most do though. So we should take the middle ground.
I suggest that we leave the process in place as it is with one exception. We will reject newbie applications but with an explanation to the wannabe. We would simply tell them that they need to prove themselves DOU material before the probation period begins. If that requires a month or 2 of participation where we get to know then, then so-beit. Of course it would be worded better than that.
We can take some time to iron this out to a point where everybody is satisfied.

A minimum time played and getting to know people before accepting them... Wait isn't that what the recruit period is for? And it does work, I explained the shit lovely did, how she played, linked the zsz thread, and voted against her. Just other people didn't bother to read the fucking threads before voting. We often get a lot of "oh I talked to this person twice they seem ok" type votes.
I do agree people should be around a while before being accepted as a recruit though, we should be able to identify them and their play style already before they are recruited.
Possibly we could get rid of the announcement on the server that says we want more recruits too. Also the one that sends people to the old UZI server, should add the freestyle and new UZI on there.
Hell right now the guy I was assigned to sponsor is never going to get voted in, and why should he if he won't make more effort? Spud never came back to the forum to see the PM I sent him. I told him when I saw him on the server that he better interact more or no one will know him and he said the forum is blocked by his work software. If he can't bother to come on at home to check the forum... Unless he has no internet at home.

A lot here I agree with. Bison and R-Mad's point about a minimum number of hours on the server and in the forum before being considered for being a recruit will further weed out week candidates that are only doing this as their hobby of the month club. That being said, I'm cool with leaving the recruit process in place as long as we establish some minimums for someone to qualify to be a recruit.
