Well....It's after 5:30 and no news. That means the scan turned up something. Looks like I'll be seeing the Oncologist on Tuesday. I'll try not to think about it but it may be an anxious 5 days. I'll post when I know more.

Well, the doctor had told me that if the scan came out favorably he would call that day and let me know. Then the Tuesday appt would be cancelled and an appt set up in it's place with the doc who'll do the surgery.
If there is "something we need to discuss" we'd just go ahead with the already scheduled appt.
But the way this works is that the scan gets read by a specialist and then a typed report gets sent to the oncologist. The scan wrapped up around noon so it is possible something could have delayed the report.
Or possibly an appt cant be set up until Friday. So I will still hold out a bit of hope for a call tomorrow but if that doesn't happen I'll have to assume there is a problem. If there is it might even be something like an infection since this type of scan involves highlighting areas that have fast-growing cells and an infection might mimic that.
Anyhow there is no point in my worrying until I know what is up.

My Doc called me last night around 7:30.
Told me he'd been out of state due to an illness of his father.
My scan from last Thursday again shows no evidence of the cancer spreading. In fact all it shows is some inflammation or residual material left over from the tumor.
So the next step is to set up an appointment to tear out the bad plumbing. This will occur sometime in November as far as I know.
Assuming there are no complications from the surgery I should be as good as I'll be by mid January.
