Yes i agree it needs to be in a place we can scream at players go and read. Then that makes it easier to kick and ban them they had the chance to read the rules..

You could also include non spamming of taunts hearing them over and over is way too annoying....

It's Synchronicity.

A few days ago I thought that it would be a good idea to actually have a "Join DOU' section of the forum. I don't know why I never thought of it, many forums have something similar. In addition to information about joining, we can put the rules, etc. in there, and as well have a post in each one of the game server areas.

I already started writing some stuff a few days ago, gimmie a few more and then I will post what I have in here and everybody can pick it apart.

For the area, we also need something to explain what it means to join a clan. This way people can get an understanding that we are not just passing out tags. They can read it and then decide if joining a clan is the thing for them or if they should just remain a regular on a server.

This is what I have so far. It is a bit fragmented at the end as I got tired of writing. I'll work on it a bit more later. Tell me what you people think so far and what needs to be added.

This post will not be for rules, we will have a post along side of this one for that. Both server specific rules and a general clan rules thread.

Joining Clan {DOU} has many benefits, but also a few responsibilities. We are an active clan that participates in many different activites. This includes but is not limited to:

Ladder Matches

Inter-Clan matches

Inter-Clan Scrimmages

Clan Vs. Clan Matches

Team Practices

One Time clan sponsored tournaments

Our clan has grown quite a bit with anywhere between 30 and 40 active members at any one time. We also have one of the most popular Camping / Sniper servers in the world, a server that has very heavy traffic.

Your number one responsibility in being a new member is participation. If you are looking for a tag to wear before your name, and are happy just doing that, then {DOU} is not the right clan for you. We have forums (you are there now), a Ventrilo voice server, and several servers that we use weekly for events. People wishing to take part in these resources are the people we are looking for. If this is not you, you are still by all means welcome to come and play when you wish to do so, but you probably will not make it into the clan. Please bare in mind that we do not require our members to be here all the time, we understand that this is just a hobby and real life comes first. But if at the end of your recruitment period most members don't know you and you don't come around much, you will not be voted in. We have created an environment rich in the type of activities that a "clan member" would want, and as such are recruiting that type of person.

Before the recrruitment process can even begin, there are a few things you need to do.

The very first thing is to go into the "Introduce Yourself" area of this forum and do exactly that, introduce yourself. Tell us a little bit about yourself while you are at it.

After this, you should download and install Ventrilo. You can find it at: http://www.ventrilo.com/

Ventrilo is a voice communications program that this clan uses. Consider it similar to a party line where many people connect and can all talk to each other in a "room" at the same time. Using Ventrilo is very important, especially for match play. The ability to communicate with your fellow clan members is key to victory (somethig we like). Also, it is a lot of fun. You get to know the Clan {DOU} members in a relaxed social atmosphere. Imagine that when you frag someone, instead of the typical "good shot" and "thank you" exchange, you can hear the other persons reaction when you own them. It is rare for someone to come to Ventrilo and not get hooked on it.

After these 2 things have been accomplished, you are ready to make a bid for membership.

Before applying, if you have any questions, you should post them here. That way, if there are any issues they can be resolved ahead of time.

Should have a 'Splash' page to the forum that posts the rules and have 'AGREE' and 'DISAGREE' buttons available!

We need one of them agree / disagree pages for clan matches too. If we get challenged they can fill out a form and agree to our rules b4 we even consider playing them.
