From what I am reading, I think that it can be summed up that on our server, it is not considered a cheat, advantage, or taboo in any way. All are free to use it. It is a matter of personal choice.
If verbally attacked by someone, state the above. If the attacker does not like it, then they a free to play anywhere else.
I have used this in the past, and it really did not improve my game play at all. I have not used it in years and do not intend to again because it just ain't as great as the Memetic crowd wants everyone to think.
Are dark areas brighter? Yes.
Do player models stick out more? No.
To me, it actually DECREASED the contrast between player models and their surroundings. All shades of color are basically the same intensity. In well lit rooms, the entire screen is almost the same washed out bright intensity. Nothing is visible. Just a big bright blob. The only map that I considered to be useful on is the one that Draco posted screens of in the post in the General area, and ONLY if the opponents skin is black. Anything with color would actually stand out better without using the settings, IMHO.

Yes some of us use it. Us that use it would not be bothered if others do. As a straight answer yes I use it. I dont plan on not using it. If ANYONE else in the clan or not wants to use it doesnt bother me and they have the right to do so. I know several guest who use it and they can go ahead and do so IMO.
