[Sticky] Ejecting DOU Members...

Just a thought I had while reviewing the clan rules...we know what to do if a cheater/hacker id busted, but what about other circumstances?

I think it would be a good idea to develop a policy for dealing with and if necessary ejecting a problem member.

Fortunately we haven't had to deal with this yet, but as we are climbing to 27 members, it will (unfortunately) eventually happen. If maddog wouldn't have left on his own, i'd have been willing to bet that we would have grown so tired of his antics that we would have wanted to take action.

I just had the thought that we should have a policy and a method, but thats it. I am completely open here to suggestions.

Lets get some posts going...i'd love to hear from everyone on this. We can do this in stages, first let everyone speak out, then organize the thoughts, and then develop a method and policy.

Since nobody is currently a problem, we can take our time with this and really think it through.

There should be a go to person who can check into a problem child and try to get him/her/it in line.

Maybe a probationary period if the offense is not really serious.

Then a suspension pending a clan ejection vote.

It should not be a majority vote as the only same 7 to 10 of us vote anyway(hint hint).

Charger hits a point that we really couldn't vote someone out by a simple majority if the voting in of our recruits is any indication of participation.

I would like to suggest that Tommy appoint a board of trustees to handle such problems and act as troubleshooters between a problem member and the rest of the clan.

Such a board of trustees would act only to advise Tommy of the problem(s) and suggest disciplinary actions if needed, leaving the final descision of any actions to be taken with Tommy. I would recommend having at least 6 and preferably more people on this board with more to added as the clan grows. These people should be active within the clan and be familiar with most of the members.

There could also be a separate forum for the trustees in the clan only area but be accessible to all clan members for airing related problems, suggestions and other discussions.

Regardless of whatever form this may take, it should be kept as open as possible for all clan members to see.

Hopefully it'll never have to used but I agree there should be something in place to deal with the possibility.

The board idea would work, but I would suggest using members that have been in for a while first (charter members so to speak) and letting the newer members earn their way in. Nothing against newer members at all just suggeting since we know the older members that would be a safe bet to start out with.

How 'bout a Tommy Gun to compliment that Uzi? Or maybe a fully auto street sweeper? Or better yet, wasn't that a puff-gun variant that Jesse the (no)body used in Predator?

Yeah....I'm dreaming of that last one, but what the hell, eh?

BTW, I like your ideas about bringing in some of the Chaos mods. The gun turret was always fun to leave behind as a calling card.

Have you ever given any thought to a grenade? I dunno how many times I wish I had one of those that I could've used on some entrenched bastard or when I've holed up in a room and I know there's someone just outside the door waiting for me to poke my head out the door. A mod like this would make them think twice about closing with someone. Even something low-powered enough that it would take two to finish someone off. I'm sure it would put some purists off but I think it would be a fun addition as a sniper mod.

Hmm lookin at the thread... I THINK IT WENT OFF TOPIC??

Yea grenade/proxy mine...now we got some new UT twistin goin on. I like it.

I have not seen the tommy gun yet... send it to me with int file so I can scope it out.

The only prob at this time in general is ammo for multi ammo... I need to fig out how to script the orig ammo for each weap and have it at certain or random cycle in spawn spots... as of now I'm stuck makin all weaps use the same ammo to fuction... Its still on my list to of things to learn and resolve. I don't wanna rely on Mutators ToolBox Weapons Arena or any of the other multi weap mutators out... I want a clean tight script that has it all wrapped nice with a crinkly, dirty, tattered bow.

I think this is not a good idea!!!! If a member is active then we all should have a idea who they are !!! It is the members that say they are active but only come and go as they please and leave their 2 cent but truly are not as active as they think they are...I think any MEMBER that is up to speed Playing, Posting, or on TS and is a full {DOU} MEMBER can be on the board or have a say in the matter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you don't trust the newer members then mybe we should not have voted them in ????

I don't think that we really have a problem with any member other than their own problems...

Unfortunately we have other obligations such as work or family matters to attend to or even COMPUTER problems to deal with either getting up and going or internet connectivity...

If we can get up to speed on things I'm sure we would be much much happier...
