I think this was the best way we ever had. This in addition to the current application and recruitment process would work great together. Take the stuff off the server about want to join and just make it by invite. Then a major portion on the weeding process is done before they even have a tag.

I played for over more than a year before I was asked to join the clan as a recruit, by R_Mad. And I think it worked out pretty well that way for me. When I first played here on the server as a guest I know for sure I broke some of the rules from time to time (didn't know better). Along the way I got to know some {DOU}members and members from other clans who let me know when I did something wrong. However I've learned the most when I got invited to join the clan and did login at the forum. This way I could read the rules and was learned what was expected from me as a DOU-member. Also I could ask questions if things weren’t clear to me.

So summarized, I think to login at the forum is one of most important things to do before becoming a recruit. That way you will get to know a person before he starts to be a recruit.

I was invited by Chicken to join DOU and he was my sponsor.
