I recieved this from BAC recently...lol...didn't know I was signed up on their forum...must've been a loooong tiome ago... but maybe this can be taken under advisement as a possible solution to most of our spam issue?

If you are using the gmail as your main source on the forum you will have
to change it to another type of mail like hotmail or yahoo. As i will have
to ban gmail off the forum as its being used by a lot of porno and drug
sites to register.I apoligize for the inconveinence this will cause you but
it seems nesesary thing to do . I will do it July 25th as to give people
enough time to take care of it.

Wont help, they use more than gmail & I have banned some Yahoo on mine as well. Gmail is just a drop in the bucket.
