A torrent it is a download system that uses a central location that provides the downloads. This central point is called a "tracker". You are connected with this tracker when you download a torrent file. The tracker keeps track of the users that have the file ( "seeds") and makes sure the providers and requestors are linked. Search for suppliers is not necessary. The tracker already know who the suppliers are. The download starts immediately.

Usually, the download seems very fast, because there are enough people like you that are downloading pieces so early and forced sharing. As the end of the download is in sight it goes a bit slower. You'll come to the file rare particles because many uTorrent users immediately close when the downloads are completed. These torrent files are available on various websites.

I use them a lot to get free music and movies. It’s like when you get a CD or DVD from a friend that you like to copy from him. Downloading is Legal, but uploading is considered Illegal and against the law in most countries!
