And I can't believe I pulled it off! Here it is: A full blown, loud, obnoxious, High Powered .50 caliber Bolt-action Rifle. 1-shot-1kill! The firing rate is once a second and, if you change to trans and back, you have to wait for the cocking animation to stop before you can shoot so we wouldn't have free-stylers and R&G guys trying to pull assaults. Eventually though, the screen, when you don't have hidden weapon chosen in your preferences, will show alot more of the rifle. Although, even this set-up is still very cool. I want all the clan members to take this baby for spin and vote on it here. Just inzip the files into your UnrealTournament/system folder and select 'Big F'n Gun .50 caliber Rifle' under the 'start practice session' mutators button.

P.S. If anyone here or has a friend real good with modeling software, please send them my way.
Me likes! No driver issues either. Now get it on a server already!! π

Very cool.
Reminded me a lot of the InstaGlib. 1 shot, 1 kill.
Here's a couple more suggestions:
- If you're trying to discourage R&G, i would limit firing to the crouched position or increase the delay between rounds when standing or running
- reset the zoom after each shot.
- Can you limit the damage depending on impact area? For example, any body shot kills, but hit a foot or arm and you just decrease health say by 25 or 50.
Again, looks great!!

I already played one shot one kill on WKA or TKK (which had the same rifle look !?) servers and you can only aim precisely when crouched.
But both servers were 1 shot 1 kill. This is the interest of this kind of rifle : you have to avoid to be seen and hit !!! If not you die.
It won't be so fun if you could be hit once before you die.
But I don't think it could be useful to reset the zoom after each shot because sometimes, you are in front of a player, crouching like you and moving slowly right and left to avoid your bullets and if you can't keep your zoom like you love it , you can't try to be the first that kills the other !
Just to let you know my opinions after I had a some experiences while playing this kind of rifle... π
Only problem with doing crouch to fire is that I can think of a couple dozen good camping spots in maps that would require you to be standing to see anything. Like windows with high sills that you can crouch behind for cover but need to stand up to see out of. Things like that.

I agree w/DM on this one.
I tried to last night. In single player mode, this gun works great. On a server, none of the functions are being replicated correctly. The gun shoots, that's about it. I'm working on it and should have those minor issues resolved. Have a good one.

I'm getting the same problem as Nightwalker. The shaded area is black on mine too.
Otherwise it works awesome!

Well, finally got a fully working version of the bolt-action rifle up on the uzi server. It is a crouch-to-shoot-accurately, single shot rifle. You can only fire a shot every second but the good news is it only takes 1 shot to kill the enemy. I made this rifle to be more realistic than what we are used too. There is no 45x zoom. It's the stock zoom rate with a traditional looking scoped crosshair just like if you were looking down a real scope. I have 10 of the larger maps available located at the bottom of the 4th column to take it for a spin. You can collect up to 40 bullets but it auto reloads the clip every 10 rounds. It even has a clip counter located just above the ammo count in the lower right hand corner, so you know when to duck because the reload takes about 2 seconds. I'm working on repairing a defect in the model so, when that is done, you will see all of the rifle like you do with the traditional rifle. I also need to reskin the arms so they match correctly. Please tell me if you notice any bugs in it and give me some ideas on how to improve. Now that I having a working template, I can try to perfect it. Once the rifle is 100% complete, I'm thinking of creating a BAR server. Have a good one and enjoy.

Just played with the new sniper rifle tonight. I'm getting the same problem as Nightwalker and Cygnus. The image is actually "inverted," so the four squares are black and the crosshairs are transparent. Also, I found I had to aim just to the right of the target to hit it. Besides these little problems, it seems like a great variation!
The newest version is located on the combo server in the 4th column under test weapon. I have since corrected the issues that Cyg was having and trued out the aim. It is still a work in progress and I'm taking a crash course in modeling. What a bitch!!! No wonder those guys make the bread. Have a good one.
