Thanks for everything people.
It seems I've survived but I with the way I feel at the moment I gotta wonder a bit about getting back to work sooner than originally estimated. I'd love too but I feel pretty wiped out right now.
Yeah, the surgery ran a bit long. Went about 12 hours instead of the 4 they were shooting for. They ran into some complications but they stuck with the original plan so they didn't have to get more invasive. If they would have resorted to the old way it would have meant a whole lot more pain and a couple more weeks of recouperation.
The other bump we ran into was that the feeding tube they put in either shifted or wasn't put in far enough. After 4 days they tried to test it out and it didn't work. I was sent down to another room for a more thorough examination and the thing just fell out. So I was kept from starting the liquid diet until yesterday so they could be sure nothing was leaking into my abdomen. Went from liquids to some soft foods today. I got some down but I get filled up pretty fast plus it is uncomfortable so soon after surgery. I think I'm sticking with liquids mostly for a bit yet.
I haven't felt hungry yet. I think that may be part of the price but I keep forgetting to bring it up with the doc.
Gonna try an catch up on rest.
BTW, Grubby.....I did ask a brunette nurse last week if I could give her a squeeze per your request and I did.
She gave me a hug on the way out today too...
Always good to hear someone is getting better , keep up the good work cyg.

I told some of them they need to be paid more.
Just having to give someone like myself a spongebath each of the first 4 or 5 days after surgery, working around 17 incisions/drains plus a catheter on top of that.....don't envy that part of their job in any way.
WELCOME HOME, CYGNUS!
I'm glad to hear your nurses treated you well.
Here's to a speedy recovery.
Take good care.
Welcome Home Indeed CYG!
We are all so glad to hear from you - keep up the good work man!
