I have decided to publish a small monthly Clan {DOU} newsletter.
Before I get this started I am hoping to get opinions, suggestions, and comments from everybody here.
I figure I will have an outline template and fill it in with new information every month. Here it is so far with explainations of what each section is for:
Clan DOU Unreal Tournament Newsletter
New Clan Member Introductions
I would introduce any new members to the clan here.
New Maps / Server Settings
IF during the month any maps are added to the server or we add a mutator, etc., I would mention that here. This might get people on the server wanting to see the new maps. If a member (Talon) were to create a new map, it would be featured here.
Banned Players
If someone gets caught cheating I would be so bold as to let everybody know about it here with all the information that I have on the player. The idea from the beginning has always been to shame these people right off the net.
Stats Page Update
Just mention monthly that the stats are updated. I am thinking that this will get people interested as well.
News From Around The Camp-hole
If we know about anything that has happened anywhere else, it can be mentioned here. Things like clans folding, tournaments starting up, whatever.
Tournaments
IF we or anyone else holds a tournament it can be written about here.
Tips and Tricks
Maybe I can convince someone in DOU to create a monthly tip / trick to add to the newsletter?

That's all I have so far.I don't think it will be something huge in UT-land, but it might be kind of nice to do and we may get an audience. I figure I will post it monthly in the admin area and also mass-mail it to all forum members. My biggest hope is that it helps to pick the forum traffic up a bit.
If anybody has anything to say about this of thinks of another topic to add monthly, please post here.

Having something to put in the new maps section will motive me to add new maps to the server, something I haven't done in a long time.

Actually, I think I will put this up on a webpage and then just spam a link to everybody on a monthly basis. We can add a button on the home page for this and also add a web counter to see if people are actually reading it or not.

You could do a podcast instead... If they ain't coming to the forum, they ain't gonna read a periodical. You can record it right in Vent and have guest and all...
Maybe not..
I bet more people would read it than you think.

Great Idea! Newsletters always stir up activity. You should email it or PM it so
people can read it if they don't visit the forum.
