First, I posted this here because it does not concern the US Euro ladder that we have played in the past.
During one of the ladder matches, I was called and penalized for spawn killing. I did not agree with the call at the time, and I knew that submitting a ticket was a waste of time, so I PMed the ref that made the call. He/she clarified why the call was made, and I felt better about the whole thing. We also got into a discussion about how the ladder was really just a run and gun ladder, and that true campers have no chance to win.
Well, I just got a PM from that admin letting me know that there is a new ladder for hardcore campers ONLY. Here is the PM:
Hey,
I thought about our "chats" and got to thinking maybe you'd like this ladder. It is a Hardcore Camping ladder, and it will have extreme camping mods.
It's also a private ladder. I intend to keep it this way simply because "camper-impersonators" would join expecting to "vote out" the mods they don't like. So this is best avoided by simply not sending an invite to anyone that doesn't have a true camping team.
So if you've got time, take a look at the rules and the few forums we've got up and let me know what you think. If you think you'll have a team interested, I'll gladly send you an invite....or if I need to send it to someone else, let me know who. Again this is only for real campers.

Please note that it is a complement that we are considered a true camping team. I feel a sense of pride in that. Also note that it is a private, invite only ladder. I like that a lot 🙂
Clicking on the link shows me that the teams that are there are the teams that I really like playing against. There are none of the "aggressive campers" that seem to dominate the other ladder. I replied to Mash that I would ask our team to see if we could field a team. Please let me know if you are interested by voting above. I really enjoy the games at FN, but hated the bullshit that came along with them.
I think that we have some people still interested in inter-clan competition in this clan and this could be a great way to fulfill that need. If we try it and don't like it, then we quit. No worries.

I know there's quite a few anxious to see this ladder kick off, thanks for being patient, we're trying very hard to make sure everything goes as smooth as possible the first time around.
The very basic idea of this ladder is to create a fun ladder for the small circle (very small) of true UT99 campers. Let it be clear that we are far less concerned with numbers, and more concerned with it being "camping."
If you were invited to this ladder, it's because we feel that you are a camping clan or team and in general, pleasant people to game with.
Primarily this is designed for American teams to compete at American times. Meaning, 9 or 10pm EST during the week or 11pm EST on weekends. However, there are 2-3 Euro teams we'd like to see here. With respect to that, American teams have to offer a fair time when coordinating that challenge. But again, 8EST or later is considered to be the "norm" for this ladder. When challenging a Euro team, please do not request a time later than 4:00pm EST. If the team is about half American half Euro, your best bet is to submit a time by 4pm EST and if a later time is preferred you can sort that out via "pre match communications" and/or "change requests."
As we progress, rules, mods and maps will be voted on. Everyone should know that we won't all agree on everything! For the first season at least, strict camper mods will be in place. A little explanation for the major ones:
A) The "no-close kill" mod. Prevents assault! Plain and simple. Also makes admining a lot easier! Sniping is done from a distance, if you do that, you won't even notice the mod.
B) The "no-run" mod. Another simple one, if you roam around-you lose health! Find a camping spot, sit still, and you'll be fine! Yes, you will lose health if you move around after your spawn protection has ended, but you will regain it whenever it is that you decide to stop (hopefully before killing yourself). You do have the ability to trans up or relocate if you've been seen, YOU CAN do this without losing a lot of health IF and ONLY IF you weren't roaming around too much to begin with. Hopping and jumping around will also cost you health points with this mod, we're supposed to be silent!
C) "no dodge," no sniper in their right mind would shoot their rifle while executing a back-flip. We're trying to promote slow, silent and unseen movement here, not acrobat olympics.
As you can see, we're still in the process of organizing the rules for this ladder. Again we're working very hard to make sure campers have a good time here. We're aiming to kick off in a month or less. PLEASE feel free to post suggestions and/or opinions.
Fuckin A, this sounds like our cup of tea. They also have the Mods I like.
My only concern is having a team large enough to compete.

This could pull me out of retirement, I like what I'm reading. PST is a real camping team and I like not having to depend on whether or not a rule being broken was seen by a ref. I think the mods will encouage the game play we enjoy. I will look at it a bit more before saying yes but it's a strong possibility I will play.

I'm totally down for this. Most of those teams are clans I respect. There are a few from BWA, TKK(mostly Tapout) and MOS who do aggressively camp but for the most part this seems like it would be more fun than the previous ladder.
Hell I just looked at the teams and the MOS players that dont tend to camp arent even on the team so thats all the better 😀
Sounds better than the current ladder. We might then want to see if anyone wants to get in on reffing for them too.
