It is this kind of stuff that gives Memetic and the others ammo to attack us with. It is this stuff that reduces our credibility. If we are all consistent in our admining, then the morons can't say that we show favoritism, cheat, and whatever else that they spout.

Actually it is acceptable because that isn't by definition assault. That's just an incidental contact.
You asked how you can determine if someone knows a spot they're going to is occupied or not? Easy. If they go into the spot, have to kill to get it and then camp it, it's a good bet they didn't know someone was there.
If they go there, kill to take it, and then move on right away looking for another spot then yes, they are trying to get cheapies by assaulting known spots.
