O.K. I have new user registration now requiring admin approval.
What I think will happen here is that I will not be able to prevent people from running the scripts to create bogus accounts, but I shoulkd be able to prevent the spam posts this way.
The way the system works now, until I approve the user, their account is "inactive." You cannot login or post until your account is "active."
Whether or not there are other scripts that can get past this too remains to be seen. And so shall we soon. 🙂

Is there is a way to setup a validation code that the spam bots cant read.
Ive seen that on some other forum with e-mail conformation.
Chicken: Apparently the system sends the mail to every person who is marked as an admin on the forum. I'll see what I can do about this. Testuser was of course me.
Talon: The code is already in place. The spammers have a way around it. There hasn't been any spam all night and just one bogus account created so perhaps we have something here.

As long as you have no guest posting it will work. They will of course load their profile up with th crap though. There is a mod where they cant ad any website or such to their profile until they have been activated too.
