We recently had an incident where one or more of our clan members were rude to a guest who was doing nothing wrong on our camping server. That guest was {SS}DeesNuts.
Just because someone has "SS" in their tag doesn't automatically mean it's a Nazi reference. In this case it was a member from the Saints-n-Sinners Clan and how he was treated made DOU look like a bunch of assholes.
NO ONE should be mistreating ANY guest unless they know for certain who they're dealing with.
I apologized on behalf of DOU to Deeznuts and told him he was still welcome here in a pm at the {SS} forum.
IMO this is the sort of thing that happens when problems are not dealt with swiftly.
I do not know the circumstances involved in this, therefore I can not comment. It would be nice to hear our members side of the story. Also, could a link to the other forum be posted so we can see what is being said?

I played with him and all I said was "SS?" and nothing more as far as I remember. Dont remember any response but he didnt play like SS, have his ping or his location anyway
Don't think I've played with him, saw him on the player list once. Were you watching at the time to know that he wasn't doing anything wrong? Or what happened before he was harassed? Or did he post a chat log screenshot? Without knowing the story I can't really comment on it. XD is also claiming he is being unfairly harassed for nothing... Yet we know why. A guy with a name meant to sound rude like that should have thick skin if someone gave him crap about it.

No one should be tossing out a revenge accusation unless you see the shooter is close to you or at least hear the shots being fired. Just fishing for an admission when you have no idea where the shot came from is poor sportsmanship. Suck it up or leave the server. Don't make DOU look bad because you can't take it.

Like I said initially, I contacted him via a PM on their forum. I didn't post anything about this on their forum.
Looks like E=ME2 was asking natan, not directly saying anything to the guy, since natan said he was out of his vision. I have asked before too when I see it say a person got killed by the person they just killed, because of the way the game spawns you next to the person that killed you all the time. Often it's just a lucky spawn across the map, but sometimes not. An accusation would have been "REVENGE!" but "revenge?" seems like a question to me.
Yeah they did assume it was an SS by what they said after the dude left, but nothing said before was that bad.
People get called way worse names all the time and most take it as joking because generally it is. A dude calling himself deeznuts thinks being called beavis is disrespectful, now that's lame.. He uses a name intended to provoke a response and then when people say anything to him he cries?
The problem with just seeing the console log is it doesn't say who gets killed and you can't see where they are and what is going on.
I agree it would be bad if they had been all over him just because he had SS in his name, but looks like they didn't do shit to make him run off. If most of us took offense at anything that small the server would never have anyone at all on it.
Hell I find it disrespectful that TKK's rifle says it capped my punk ass, I'm gonna go ask smitty for an apology. 😆

I was there to witness it and I found Deeznuts took it the wrong way. I think he took it out of context and was thinking he was being accused of something, got angry, found out he wasn't getting accused and got angry at the Beavis remark instead. Plus some people don't like to be told to calm down. I think he made himself look like an asshole.
I believe SS took it the right way and didn't deserve the comments he got, even after he left. E was being a smart ass and it does flash across our screen umteen times when you play that abusive treatment towards others will not be tolerated. SS simply stated his case, thats all.

And, yes we need to be careful who we taunt and assume are SS guys - or whomever. But again, if the issue with these guys had been dealt with directly a long time ago we wouldn't all be shell-shocked. If I had been involved in that particular circumstance I can't honestly say how I would have reacted. There is only one person I blame here for this and Natan, E-Me2, Bonk or Underhill aren't one of them.

I too am in agreement with Bison and Cygnus here. While "Beavis" is not really too derogatory, it implies that Deeznuts is stupid.
Please remember that we have to set the example for behavior on our server. If visitors see rude behavior, they will think it is okay to be rude.
Well, to clear things up, or to make it more complex.
We were practicing this map for the DOU Extreme match. I saw a bot in a bookcase and told it to the others, so they could shoot it (like we would do in a match). I was asked where the bot was and I complied that it was out of my vision. So it had nothing to do with remarks of seeing a revenge.
I think when speaking for myself we jumped to easy to the conclusion that we were dealing with a SS guy here. We should have been more careful in this matter. My comment after he left that any ´real´ SS guy should be banned still stands for me.
Would be helpful to see a comment of E=MC2 and Mr.Underhill here to get the whole picture. If {SS}DeezNuts wasn’t that easily provoked with calling him Beavis, things would be sorted out and cleaned up easy, but that´s talking when harm is allready done.
I agree with Jarg about setting an example for behavior on our server, but there weren´t any visitors other than {SS}DeezNuts. Still we should have been more careful.
