You really don't think you talk down to everyone? You take every post you can to say how everyone is not as "Educated" as you are. If anyone disagrees with you its always portrayed by you as they are stupid. It gets really old. And god forbid anyone who speaks a different language be accused of anything. That accuser is always "uneducated" as the poor poor run and gun player just didn't know.

I do not share all your points here, but in fact I believe I'm not able to interact properly with all you, due I do not speak english, and do not understand any word when I listen you talking, and it's very difficult to me write a post without a coach near me.

Anyway I want to tell you some things related:

First: "educated " or "well educated" words.

In spanish, and mainly in Chile and Argentina the words "educated" or "well educated " do not mean having received a good academic education in a School, a College or other kind of Academic Institution.

Is not a rank or a social level of importance.

Usually a "well educated person" means a person who is polite, who talk with decent words, who had good manners in front other people, that respect the connivance and conduct rules. Mothers try to teach the kids to be "well educated" in this way of understanding, for example saying "thanks" when they receive something good or a gift.

For example a person who farts soundly in middle of other people in the office is a "bad educated" person. A rude one.

If you say: "Last night I saw a player running in our server..." is an educated form to express. If you say " Last night I saw an asshole, running for all the fucking map" is a bad educated way to express.

Using the words "educated" or "well educated" I'm not trying to look over the others. I'm trying to get a better forms to comunicate among us. My 9 y.o kid sometimes ask me what means some words he read when Im playing and he is watching the game. Is embarrassing for me to say him the true meaning...

But I'm not trying to eliminate absolutely some use of that words, due sometimes I use it too. I only think we need to argue o make a clan discussions with good manners, without the use of insults or disqualifications...

Second: Nuances

Spanish language have many nuances to express an idea, but I do not know how to translate the proper nuance every time, so, sometimes I could sound insulting or weird. In the past yO mAmA used to correct my translation and explain me the difference between two similar words. Unfortunately he is not available.

I never treated expressly like "stupid" other clan members except abberation in this topic, due he disqualifies me from time in time. But I understand, following your arguments, that my way to express my English can be interpreted as a way of saying stupid, but it was not my intention.

So I apologize to all, including you if you feel treated like "stupid" for me when I expressed my points. Was not my intention of any way.

I do not apologize to abberation due I said him expressly he is an stupid and I consider he deserves it.

Third: The word "Arrogance" .

I do not consider clan members being arrogant with me in any way. Normally I feel well treated for the most. I'm believe we all (that includes me) are becoming arrogant like a clan, with guests.

That is what I listened several times, when I played in other servers, and that arrogance is related to the way we treat our guest, the insulting words, the excesive pressure, the fault the understanding respect the noobs, etc. In some servers, when I use the DOU tag, I become answering all class of question or comments about our own faults and our lack of judgment.

The three or four days vote polls are another way to consider this clan arrogance (with others not with me), due we do not make a deep discussion about the topics or problems but only we take fast decisions.

Here is rule #3:

3) While freedom of speech is encouraged, it should not get out of hand. As such, nothing will be censored in DOU territory (noteing the exception in #2), but try not to get wreckless with this policy. Freedom of speech is not freedom to be offensive or obscene.

Certain members of this clan have demonstrated time and again they think are above this rule. They've had their "fun" and this is going to stop.

I will be discussing with Tommy what penalties would be appropiate to deal with blatant, willful violations of the above quoted rule should be in the future.

Although heated disagreements are expected from time to time things have really sunk to new lows recently. I'm tired of it and so are others.

Let's get it together and make an effort to get along. You don't have to agree with people but disagreements can be handled in a civil manner.

In the years I have been here I have had my share of disagreements with different members of this clan but I don't take someone having an opinion that differs from mine personally. I try to explain my position and persuade people but I draw the line at making personal insults just because some member, or members, don't see things exactly the way that I do. After all they are DOU and part of the same organization.

I believe the fact that they have paid their dues and been voted in here entiltles them to a certain level of respect. At the very least more than I would extend to some rule breaking idiot that comes to our forum to whine. They are DOU. That should mean something, shouldn't it? Aren't we all on the same team here even if we are not on the same page?

I agree with Cyg and NATAN that we should keep things civil when we disagree with our brothers and sisters in arms and, in the case of our members for whom english is not a first language, I think we need to understand that not everything we say in english has a clear translation and vice versa. What I wrote was aimed at lot of different scenarios. Not one in particular.

I made a point of saying we should show each other a certain measure of respect. Calling someone stupid for simply disagreeing with you is not respectful.

The point is everyone should stick to the subject they are debating instead of making personal remarks about each other simply because they can't agree on some subject or course of action.
