Just heard from cyg. He expects to leave the hospital today if all goes well. He said that all went very well to the point where he might be back at work in 4 weeks instead of 6 weeks. They think they got it all with no evidence of spreading.

This is really good news.

Been home about 8 days now.

Didn't do much of anything until last Sunday and I got out and got a little walking in. I don't get far w/o becoming fairly winded and I remain pretty numb in the ribs under my right breast and it reaches over to my left to center of my chest. The oxycodone helps but there isn't much left so I've been taking it at a minimum since I haven't been cleared to take anything else for pain relief.

Picked up a bit of a cough at times too and it's been enough to bring out some pain in the areas mentioned above.

I'm also feeling the cold more but that's been going on since chemo.

This damn cold weather doesn't help. But I did manage a couple more short walks today.

Haven't been online all that much the last few days. Spend alot of free time now watching TV.

I see the doc Thursday am. He was very optomistic about 9 or 10 days ago I could have all restrictions lifted so I could work again when this appointment came about. That would be awesome but I don't think my body is going to cooperate.

I am seriously getting tired of being on my backside so much but until I get my wind back there isn't alot I can do.

I'll get another post up sometime this weekend.

I dislike when people are suffering, since not always I can help them. But I hope, that everything worst you already have behind you. You are a he-man. Don't give up.

All the best Cyg

Seen the doc today and he said I'm doing well.

I also found out that I was the first person at that hospital to have a surgery of that type done completely laparoscopicly. That is partly why it took so much longer than planned. The other reason it took so long was that my hiatal hernia was pretty bad. The doc said about half my stomach was above my diaphragm.

All and all I would be much worse off right now had the surgery been done the old way. Right now I have shortness of breath when I'm up and moving as well as some numbness and pain. If my abdomen had been opened up I would likely be on pain meds every 2 hours as well as portable oxygen. I have to agree I'm in pretty good shape for 23 days after surgery.

I'll see the good doc again in 3 weeks and maybe I can get back to work soon after.
