I see the website was down again today...I had a busy day so I didn't even try connecting until 4pm EST. I'm curious as to how long it was actually down.

Funny how after we renew the host, we have 3 problems in as many weeks resulting in a long downtime each time.

Remind me of this when it comes time to renew again and I will get us a better host.

Actually I am thinking of getting the sliver plan from Canaca (dot com) next time out (or probably sooner). We are currently getting 1 gig of space and 40 gigs a month bandwidth for 4 dollars a month pre-paid fr a year.

With Canaca, we would pay double that (8/mo.) and have to pre-pay 2 years (190 dollars US), but then we get 20 gigs of space and 400 gigs a month bandwidth. So we'd pay 2 times what we pay now, but get 10 times the monthly bandwidth and 20 times the disk space.

This would be especially nice considering that our redirect servers aren't so hot anymore since the switch away from ev1. I had planned to move the files to our webhost, but with all the servers now we just don't have the space. I'm going to talk to Turkey and see if he has some space for us on the new severs, but if not i'll have to figure something out.

So if canaca.com ends up being the solution i'll use the rest of the money from the fun raiser and throw in what else is needed and get it. But I don't want to do this fast. Since it is a 2year pre-paid commitment I am going to make sure we aren't jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.

If we do switch webhosts, moving the nuke site and phpbb2 bords will be VERY easy...the site will just look like it's down for a few hours, and then come back up with the new host. Most people will never know anything happened.

Just some random thoughts I had while waiting for cs to bring our site back up.
