I think most of you have played against Duke in the past few weeks. He seems like a personable and decent fellow with a good sense of humor. For some reason he wants to join this odd group, so when you see him sporting the {dou-r tag}, shoot him. 😯 😆

Keep this in the clan for now...as in don't say anything to him.
I know him from the Quake 2 community. He has a less then great reputation there. I'm working on the servers now, when I take a break I will come back and post about it.
I am all for giving him a chance, but i'm not overly optimistic here. More soon.

O.K. people, here is the deal. Once you guys read this I am sure you will be as concerned about this as I am.
First, a little history, and then something that happened today.
Duke is a Quake 2 LOX player and is a regular on the DOU LOX server. He used to play on the WOS (my old clan) server until he was banned about 6 month ago. Duke was also a member of BOD (AAAGGHHH's clan) until about 4 month ago when he was kicked out of there. Here is why the bannings occured.
When playing Quke 2, you can talk just like in UT99, as a matter of fact Q2 uses the same key (t) and it is a "say" command. It's all the same. You can also bind say commands like Charger and a few others do in UT99 to speed up the saying of repetitive things. Well, a few clever people figured out how to do that but omit the part where it indicates who is saying it. Thus in the console,
Tommy: Bite me
would look like,
: Bite me
Then you can't tell who said it. Thats just how it will look to the players though, whoever said it will still be indicated in the logs.
So, a few days before Dukes banning from WOS, there were complaints that duke was doing this and saying very offensive things. Supposedly he was saying things like after killing someone you'd see in the console ": die nigger" and also something very offensive about polish jews being killed by nazi's. I forget right now exactly what it was, but I remeber it being extremely offensive.
Now here is the kicker about this. When that all went down, it was discussed in the WOS complaint Department on their forums. The problem was that WOS said they checked the logs and confirmed that Duke did this, but they refused to show even a portion of the logs. At the time I found that to be very suspicious. WOS never liked Duke, and I thought they might just be trying to get rid of him once and for all. I actually stuck up for Duke, not in the normal sense though, but just to say that it was bullshit to say you have evidence and then withhold it. WOS's reply was pretty much that they don't have to do anything they don't want and if I don't like it, too bad. Without evidence I cannot fairly accuse anyone of anything, but my gut feeling is that Duke was guilty of this. Oh, and just as a side note, I am not a Jew, but I am Polish (thus I took great offense at what was said).
So, at first BOD stuck up for their clan mate. But as time went on they got wise to him, and then it all came to a head and Duke was ejected from BOD. AAAGGHHH and Duke cannot get along at all now, and they are like a couple of fn bullies battling for which side of the street to control. And this surfaced again yesterday. On the DOU quake 2 server the 2 of them went at it. AAAGGHHH accused Duke of cheating and it went from there. Duke was calling AAAGGHHH a fool and said "Blow me." AAAGGHHH called Duke a prick a few time. Let me repeat, this was in public on a DOU server, while other people were there playing. I'm not sure but I think I can get a condump of the conversation, or grab it from the logs. I'll trey to do it and parse out the garbage as much as possible without making a career out of it. I will post it below.
Still, there is more. Shortie came forward to me to let me know that Duke apparently called her a cheater on the sniper server. I am having difficulty finding this in the logs, but thats because there are a few2 million lines in the logs so I need to figure out how to parse that log to get what I need in a useable format. She has said that she no longer will play when she sees him on.
Also, {dou-r}BamaEthan (kxethan) is still a member of BOD. Seeing how Duke was ejected from BOD, I think Bama might not be too happy Duke joining us. I know what happened in another clan has nothing to do with us, but Bama is a good guy (a very good guy) and I would choose him over Duke in a heartbeat.
So, here is the deal. We need to decide what we want to do. Forgetting about the background we have the issue of Shortie and what happened yesterday on the Q2 server. Are these offenses worthy of showing him the door or just a stern warning? I think you all know my opinion, but I am just 1 of many. I am not going to put a hammer down here, we are a clan now, a clan of equal voices. I'd like to hear some of them.
This is my bad too, and I apologize Toons! I knew for over a week that he wanted to join. I meant to give everybody a heads up but as usual I got distracted and didn't do it.
Let me see about that condump (console dump) now.

And that wasn't half of it, these 2 just went on and on and on. There were other people playing too who were seeing this, ON A DOU SERVER.
Regardless of what happens, I need to talk to both of them about this. It has to stop now.

I trust Tommy's judgement on this one.
We have good people in our clan and our clan has a good reputation because of the quality and integrity of our members. We don't need someone to mess that up. I don't know anything about this guy other than what Tommy posted, but I don't feel he is worth the risk.
I'll vote against him.

It seemed to me that Arrgghh has been starting this problem and I suppose Duke is rather young and fell in the trap ! (but I'm not sure !! lol)
But I'm ok that the server isn't a place for that behaviour and that a dou people must not go that dummy way... But I'm not sharp enough in english to be sure of what really happened ! 😕 😆
Now I will add my two cents. Last week Shortie was playing on another server( I always ask where she is in the game world). I asked her why, isn't anyone on our server. She said that she was not going to play on ours for a while. I could not let this go so I pressed. She told me of the problem with Duke while he never called her a "cheater" she said that the insinuations were there and that she was very upset so she was just going away for a while. It took me two days to get her to come back and play, but if he signed on she was leaving the game right then. She will not play with him, ever. I know that she has never and never would cheat. She is one of the best and nicest players I have played with. I think you all have played with her enough to know this too. Apparently there were other DOU members playing at the time (although I can't be sure as she will not say). I sure hope not we should never allow anyone on our servers to be harrassed and should stop it at once. Most certainly not one of our members.
As far as the above with AAAGGHH and Duke. Both need to know that this will not be tolerated on our servers period. I like AAAGGHH but he has to be warned that if it happens again there must be repercussions.
We as a clan must not let this happen. We have a real nice place here lets keep it that way.
This guy is definitely not DOU material after his recent behavior on our servers.
As Recruitment Officer, I should be the one who pulls his recruit status and will happily send him an email and a PM informing him of it and why.
I would also recommend a 6 month ban at the very least from all DOU servers and I wouldn't be against it being made permanent if other members wish it.
Let me know how you want it handled.
